It angers me that anyone would let a beautiful creature like this roam free on the streets. I hope the owner is found and has a good reason, not just an excuse. I wasn't aware exotic animals were allowed to live so close to cities, and that article doesn't give many details, but she seems tame. Letting her roam free endangers not only people, but also her, since the sight of a tiger roaming freely throughout a neighborhood could result in someone shooting her, or jerks harming her for their amusement. http://abc13.com/news/tiger-found-wandering-loose-in-conroe-area/1303094/ tiger vertical.jpg

I think that it is a good idea to let a person choose their pets, until it gets too dangerous. Here in Hawaii it's illtilegal to own snakes and other reptiles and sometimes the State dept. is called when in the wild these snakes or giant lizards are roaming near homes and comes in the news. I think that responsible pet owners should get domesticated pets so it's safer for the pet owner for exotic ones can grow really big even in captivity. Pets must be given right kind of environment to be healthy and happy too, so a house is not a place of home for tigers. I remember Born Free and think of this poor tiger cub.

my god how did that cat get into this country?? there are laws now that prohibit this. I remember back when people here imported dangerous fish and animals mostly from the far east. which result in ecological disasters

I'm not sure exactly what the laws are, but I know that Texas has different laws regarding exotic pets and animals than most states have. A farmer in the Los Fresnos area has a few giraffes, I know, and someone in Rancho Viejo has a lion. Some of the larger ranches offer big game hunts for African animals, not in Africa, but in Texas. I'm sure they have some laws regulating such things, but they are less stringent than most states. The tiger's owner probably doesn't allow the animal to run loose. My guess is that it got away, just as dogs and other cats sometimes like to roam.

A few years ago in Ohio the owner of over 50 tigers, lions, panthers, bears and other animals deliberately let them loose. Most had to be killed. Owner committed suicide.

Resulted in a change in the law.

If you have not all ready seen the news, the sound female tiger was caught wondering in Conroe neighborhood. A young couple bumped into her. He was frightened at first because she was crouched in a menacing way, but then she ran to him and put her paws on his shoulders and started licking his face like a dog, he said. Animal control took her into custody, unhurt.

from the link about this cat:

"Her name is Nala. She's very nice. She's a 4-5 month old tiger," said a man who identified himself only as Cody.

Cody saw the news about the tiger found roaming a north Conroe neighborhood and called Eyewitness News claiming it's his -- sort of. He says her ownership is up in the air.

"We dropped her off at a friend's and I don't really know how she got out," Cody said.

    sort of Gracie ??

This reminds me of the woman who had a "Loving" pet orangutan until the day he tore her face off. I can't imagine why anyone would want a wild animal as a pet.

Then there's Charla Nash. You can Google but she was on Oprah a few years ago. Friend's chimpanzee attacked and left her horribly disfigured - ripped her faceoff and destroyed her hands.

@Shirley Martin my goodness I gasped when Charla lifted the veil and showed what was left of her face. :( Oprah went to the Cleveland Clinic to talk to her.

I just checked and Charla has had lots of surgeries and looks "better", but lost her eyesight and her hands.
