Although I am living in New England now, it's probably not a New England accent. I was born in Wisconsin, grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, lived in South California for twelve years, the Rio Grande Valley of Texas for twenty years, and Maine for twenty years, with shorter times in Iowa and North Carolina.

Macs come bundled with QuickTime preinstalled, which I think is available for Windows-based machines, as well. In fact, it's likely that Windows has even more options. QuickTime will record audio as an M4A file. However, the forum does not accept M4A file uploads so I had to download an audio file converter program from the App Store, which has several of them for free or for a few dollars. The one I downloaded was free, and it will convert the M4A file to MP4 or WAV, either of which will upload here.

Windows 10 had a Voice Recorder app, which I think is preinstalled or available free from Microsoft, which should work if your computer/monitor has a microphone. I have an external USB mic that I use because it produces a better recording than the built-in one. Voice Recorder also saves as an M4A file, and that may be the only save option. If so, you'll need a converter but I am pretty sure that there are free ones available.

Ken, I figure that makes you about 112 years old. Where in California did you live? I spent time in Sacramento, Lake Tahoe and Oakland but I never went south. If you can't remember at your age, it's okay. I respect my elders.

No, it makes me 71 years old. My time in North Carolina is concurrent with my time in Maine, since we still had the house here in Maine while we were in North Carolina. Somewhere in this forum, I discussed the places I have lived and, since it was only seven years ago, I think I can find it - in this thread. I also posted photos of most of the places I have lived, from Google Earth, but I can't remember where in the forum those are. I'm sure I could find them but I don't have time right now. But, to answer your question, I lived in a couple of places in Buena Park, as well as in Cypress, Fullerton, Long Beach, and Anaheim, and for a short time on a horse ranch outside of Corona.
