Here is a doctor who told people they had cancer so he could use chemotherapy drugs on them when they did not. Making him millions of dollars and probably injuring 500 people. Why is all these countries going bankrupt from medical care is because the thieves in the system. Even the watch dog for the medical system say that they fraudulent bill for billions of dollars per year and nothing is said because it is a protected and self regulated system http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/oakland-county/2015/07/10/farid-fata/29955103/
Yes, I heard about this, its a horrible story. What's even more horrible is this man only got 45 years. In my opinion he should of gotten life for what he did. This was worse the extortion, he was intentionally harming people. His actions were inexcusable, and he has given the medical profession a bad name. However, this does just reinforce what I have always known that if I was diagnosed with a grave illness such as cancer I would seek out a second opinion just to be certain that the prignosis is that bad. I wish all these patients had done that.
I do believe doctors do not always have the best interest of the patient in mind at all times. If I had a serious condition I would also get more than one doctors opinion on my condition.
This is good that they caught him and I do feel sorry for the people who he harmed because they believed and trusted him because he was a doctor. He is not the only one the watch dog for medical fraud says that 1/3 of the billing from doctors is fraudulent coming to billions of dollar per year. .I guess every buddy need to make a car payment.
I can see where you're coming from. I have had my own share of disheartening experiences with doctors, especially those who are simply promoting aesthetics with the obvious aim of getting money from their patients. What happened to the Hippocratic oath? I think the more pressing concern and question at the same time is: Who will regulate all these?
Last year, I was diagnosed with kidney stones. It's the same diagnosis I got in the year 2006 which I was prescribed pills to crack the stones so it would leave my kidney through the bladder and urine. But this time, the doctor wanted to do a stent surgery - inserting a thread-like cable in my kidney to crack the stone. When my sister, who is a nurse, learned of the doctor's prescribed surgery, she objected. After consulting their specialist (in the hospital where my sister works), we concluded that the surgery was only to refresh the knowledge of the urologist. I never went back to him again.
He probably told you to stop taking calcium supplements. The doctor through their ignorance think that the calcium in the stone came from your diet because of the increase of calcium in the blood. The truth is that the calcium in the stone was pulled from your bones and teeth by the parathyroid gland and you have a raging calcium deficiency. If you take a good calcium supplement the calcium will go down in the blood and less chance of making new stones
