My wife found both of them and gave them to me to read. I completely read both last night and highly, highly interesting, as well as somewhat scary. So interesting, I couldn't put either down while reading them. One is called, Is War Ever in the Will of God? by David Jeremiah, an Evangelist. The other: Marks Of A Collapsing Nation: How Does The U.S. Stack Up? by R.E. McMaster, Jr. For this article/story, just be prepared for what is said about America.
Hummmmmm, nobody look at this thread yet? Oh, that's right, "have to give it time", I'm always told. Nothing comes instantly, except coffee.
Welllll, there are spots in the Bible where God commands war, right? But Back to my recommendation of the book What God Said by Walsch, the times they are a changin'. And my brother often compares the fall of the US with the fall of Rome. Empire building, taxing to pay for it, corruption, bread and circuses and then....
Yes, but only in the Old Testament. Never in the New Testament, not for followers of Jesus . His Instructions are clear : "Be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves." Very very very rarely seen, learned and practiced. Even doctors who used to believe "first of all do no harm" have done a complete about face in the last fifty years, officially, in the schools and under the government, now for decades: "first of all, do harm". Totally contray to God's Word and Instructions and Plan and Purpose.
Almost the whole world has been corrupted for centuries, almost if not every country serving the enemy of God instead of turning to God to be healed.
I never owned a bible or even held one, I learned so much about life with the 10 Commandments when I was being taught by the catholics.
Weird and funny at the same time, one of the 10 Commandments say "though shall not kill", but.................
The whole world was corrupt at the time of the first sin. That is why God arranged to allow Jesus to redeem us. He knew what we would be like.
Most people never are redeemed. He knows what is in man. God's Instructions are not obeyed by most people anywhere. The lawless one is more lawless today than ever before. Killing is not only legal, it is even promoted, bragged about, and not opposed.
Cody, I'd like to read the second article on America's decline but there's no link and I'm not finding it with a search. For those who aren't aware of it, the 6th Commandment does not prohibit all killing. Though some translations incorrectly state this, the closest translations of the Hebrew text cite "murder" as the sin. This is apparent and consistent with the fact that God expressly had judicial laws for the Israelites requiring the death of individuals for certain kinds of sin and directed entire towns of people to be slaughtered in order to eradicate evil in the chosen lands. God obviously endorses killing by man under some circumstances, and there's logical scriptural reason to support that concept, past and present, for lawful government executions, just wars, defense of another's life, and maybe defense of one's own life - the last being a troubling violation of turning the other cheek. But hey, we all agree that murder is wrong, and that's a rare consensus on anything these days, right?
