Good morning to all- The longer I live the more thankful and to be honest the more amazed I am at the wisdom of our country's government creators. Our system of checks and balances allows us to live in relative security knowing that no single branch of government or political organization can threaten our country. Our government is such that even very, very limited and misguided persons who .achieve high office can not work their wills and create chaos without being stopped by other government functions and personnel. Our government is not perfect, and recent political office holders prove that very bad people can somehow achieve high office, but I know of no other government which is nearly as effective and protective of its citizens as ours. I am thankful to be a US citizen. good day to all- Ed
Ed, I am also thankful to be an American and, with what is happening now, I too appreciate the wisdom of our country's government creators. The checks an balances worked pretty well. But a president put the Federal Reserve in motion which the founding fathers did not want and warned against and now, 100 years later, our dollar is destroyed so a new money must be created which will enslave us. The Federal Government's job is maybe two or three things. One is to defend us from invasion. Well, we have a president that is basically causing an invasion with impunity. To keep us from foreign entanglements has been a joke. Our legislative branch makes laws at the behest of lobbyists and big business, not for the citizens. The Congress goes so far as to keep the laws 'they' make from applying to themselves. The laws are so convoluted and bloated that most legislators don't read them and I know I can't. And our judicial branch could almost be choking on the backlog of broken laws. With all three of the branches slowly being eaten away from their roots, I fear we may not be long before we are taken down.
Good evening to all- Gosh, I don't see things as being nearly so bad as you describe. We're going to be OK. you all be safe and keep well- Ed
