I enlisted in the Air Force out of high school during the Korean War for two reasons. One--To keep from getting drafted into the Army and second to get the benefits to go to college. California veterans were offered what was called a CalVet Home Loan at 3 1/2% I used all of my college benefits and my first home was purchased with a CalVet 3 1/2% loan. Here I am now at age 85 receiving monthly Disability payments for my service connected hearing loss due to jet engine noise before protective ear pads became mandatory. My hearing aids and later the Cochlear Implant was provided by the Veteran's Administration.
My Dad went to college on the GI Bill. I don't think as many veterans now take advantage of it as they did in earlier decades. It's a wonderful program.
It can pay up to $1,911.00 monthly for a Single Veteran, $ 2,265.00 for married Vet You have to qualify of course by being a veteran and meeting some additional criteria. It sure helps pay for some of the high costs of Assisted Living
This benefit is available to veterans age 65 or disabled and can be paid for husband and wife or just the veteran.
I get the typical VA Medical for a non-service connected healthcare. All of my meds come from the VA also. As for what you are asking about, not even sure what it is.
