With our president's campaign against illegal drugs, the daily news is rife with the arrests and killings of persons related to illegal drugs. With the killings, it is either the cops or the vigilantes (unknown killers). Majority of the killings are the work of vigilantes who even leave a sign that says the person killed was a drug pusher. From the last count, the number is almost a thousand killed by vigilantes. This extra judicial killing is getting scary because the murdered people were not given due process. What if those killed are not guilty or simply an innocent civilian like me?
It's a two edged sword with absolutely no answer. On one side, drug dealers are murderers. They will deal their poison to anyone whether it's a child, pregnant woman, or whoever has a little money. In some cases the law doesn't mess with them because they know that once they are busted they can just bail out and continue business as usual. The laws are such that if ANY mistake is made during a legal bust then the dealer goes free even if there is no doubt about the guilt. When I lived in Greenville, S.C. the neighborhood next to me was so fed up with 2 crack houses that the community burned them both down to the ground because the law would not do anything about them. The other side of it is that yes, due process of the law is a better course and vigilantes rarely stop at an objective but continue further into other agendas. Yes, innocent bystanders do get hurt and killed as they do on occasions even in a legal process so what's the answer? Dunno.......
We had American vigilantes over here, they were called 'Guardian Angels' (American organisation) and were fab ! They didn't kill anyone, just guarded us citizens Pity the idea didn't take off, they were needed
First I love what your president is doing and saying. The police will never be anough to protest the people but the people can be a good force.
