Yep, off topic, but it depends on where you are in Alaska. Most of the southeast part of the state Panhandle) is like the Pacific Northwest and has large trees. The rainforest extends up through Prince William Sound. As you go north, the trees tend to get smaller. The Alaska Highway goes into the Interior and it is mostly Taiga, which is small trees growing on discontinuous permafrost. Trees in this area get 50 or 60 feet tall, but when I lived out west on continuous permafrost, the trees were very small or nonexistent, but as you moved inward into the hills, the trees got larger. As an aside, most of Alaska is roadless, so StreetView won't cover it since you cannot drive there.
