An hour ago, 7:00 PM, my wife called out: temperature 106 degrees F., Relative Humidity 2%, Dew Point 4 degrees! That means that your cold drink can, removed from your fridge, would not "sweat" unless it's temperature was 4 degrees or less! Frozen drink, anyone? It is 76 degrees in our house, the 106 dropped 30 degrees simply by evaporating a bit of water, not much, actually about 4 gallons per hour. Cheap cooling! Our water costs $3.00 per thousand gallons here. So, how's YER weather? Frank
Your post reminds me of the recent drought where the ground of our extended garden looked cracked with extreme dryness. My husband said he needed a hoe to get some soil because it was like a rock. Yeah, you can feel heaven with that frozen drink amid the sizzling temperature hovering in 3 digits. Fortunately it started to rain some 3 weeks ago and the plants are now all green and the grass is knee-high, whew, that fast eh. I seldom drink soda now because of the cooler temperature. But we are bracing for the downside of the rainy season... the floods may hit us again. But I'm hoping the floods will spare us this year, just like last year when we had no floods.
70-75 here and, beginning Wednesday, it is supposed to rain through Sunday, or at least a little bit each day.
@Ken Anderson Our nice "soaking" 3 days ago represented 20% of the whole year's precip, all in a 10 hour span. Such is the arid Desert.
