    Missing Australian Alek Sigley welcomed tourists to North Korea. Now, he's disappeared. Is it safe for you to visit the "hermit Kingdom"?

    On his Tongil Tours website, Mr Sigley wrote: "Tourists provide a rare and much-needed bridge between North Korea and the outside world. North Korea is a beautiful country with a rich and unique culture and citizens who want to know more about the world"

    I wouldn't visit there. If people are curious, there are lots of YouTube videos they can watch. You never know at what time their leader may lose the little bit of sense he may still have and have everyone killed on the tourist bus.

    True. The only thing anyone enjoys about a tourist is their money. Without cash in hand and the willingness to let go of it, the actual person isn’t very welcome at all and is just another stranger to be watched.

    @Bess Barber
    During the infamous FBI siege at Waco, enacted upon the Branch Davidian Curch Compound, :

    "Increasingly aggressive techniques were used to try to force the Branch Davidians out. For instance, sleep deprivation of the inhabitants by means of all-night broadcasts of recordings of jet planes, pop music, chanting, and the screams of rabbits being slaughtered."

    See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_siege

    Disgustingly mind-bending. During Congressional investigations after the incident concluded, one of the Davidian survivors refuted many of the officially-stated claims, for example, that firearms were being bought and sold illegally: one member possessed a Treasury Department issued Federal Firearms License (FFL).

    Then they likely aren't tourists either, Tom.

    I've seen interviews from some of the people who actually escaped from there. They are truly so sweet and so amazed at the rest of the world they have never seen. They did have access to intranet, as opposed to the internet. So, all they ever heard or saw is what the state orchestrated. They actually grow up being told the USA is the reason their electricity and food is so limited. It's just sad.

    A cohort of ‘silent heroes’ at the highest level of governments have secured the release of an Australian student Alek Sigley from North Korea. It appears the Australian's sudden appearance is as mysterious as his disappearance.

    update: We are now hearing that Sweden played a large part in the rescue of Sigley from a North Korean detention camp. Help.. if someone that praises the hermit kingdom such as this student has done and is thrown into detention.. what chance does someone have that criticizes it?.

    Update: If what we are hearing is true Alek is so lucky to have left the reclusive country unscathed. Word is the young Australian university student has now been accused of spying and spreading propaganda by supplying media outlets with critical info.

    @Craig Swanson
    I saw a YouTube video that spoke of the large black market for young people who loved movies and music. Apparently, there is good money in it. I think for them to get this look into the rest of the world is the first step towards a change down the road. Maybe he was involved in something of that nature. If so, I consider him a brave hero,
