    @Gloria Mitchell
    Get you a container of No-Salt, and use it as you would regular salt, on foods, in cooking. It's Potassium Chloride instead of Sodium Chloride, thus making it possible to get your daily potassium without taking meds. I use it all the time; my Potassium always falls in the middle of the acceptable range.

    The daily recommended adult minimum amount of Potassium is over 4000 mg, twice that of the max of plain salt recommended. That's 4 grams, quite a lot. As for bananas, yes, they contain relatively more Potassium than other foods. It takes only 40 bananas to get 4000 mg of Potassium, though.

    Potassium is extremely important. It regulates the heartbeat, among other things.

    @Gloria Mitchell , are your potassium tables big enough to choke a horse? DH had to take them and I don't see how he even swallowed them.

    @Gloria Mitchell I agree with the no salt substitute. There are many foods and some natural products, hope you get results from your meds, maybe after you get it controlled with meds, try food and natural adds.

    Of course! For two reasons: first, they want to sell the drugs. Second, they assume the public is stupid, and might go ahead and buy "Light Salt", which is half regular salt and half potassium salt.

    @Gloria Mitchell Holly is so right, sounds like you've not being feeling good for a long time, you've probably got yourself worn down, do the med thing...please...once you feel better, search other ways of getting your potassium. Get better soon.

    @Emma Smith Please tell us where you found the potassium figures for the foods listed. Reason I ask, is that I distinctly recall a much lower number for bananas. My source says 195mg, compared to yours at 544mg.
    6 Apricots 244 vs 430
    I admit, the size of the product affects the amount of potassium contained, but bananas are pretty much bananas, as are apricots. The other items you listed are mainly higher than my list, but their size can vary greatly.

    My source for info: https://www.calorieking.com/us/en/foods/

    I used "- Average All Brands" for sourcing.
