What I Learned Today

Yeah, that was another thread. I actually thought of that after I posted because I get them confused sometimes too. Word of the Day, Thought of the Day, Something I Learned......I'm of an age where this seems to all run together from time to time.

 

Hey!!!! We are a very resourceful people.

 

I learned today, from my daughter while watching a documentary, that Chinese Checkers were actually invented in Germany. Apparently, the Germans were the second to open trade routes with China during the Victorian Era. They named the game based on the port trade route.

 

I learned that the word Avocado comes from a Nahuatl Indian (Aztec) word “ahuácatl” meaning testicle.

 

I learned that these are called Jacob's Ladder.

 

That particular knowledge could explain this........

I dunno... krill??

 

I learned Mr Rogers was green ,red color. blind and most of the sweaters he wore were red or green. Also his mother made all the cardigans he wore.

 

I learned that a blue whale can blow a fart bubble big enough to fit a horse in it.

 

Well a dead krill smelling fart the size of a horse CAN'T smell good.

You have to be retired to really give something this unimportant so much thought.
