This has been in my junk drawer for a few years now and every time I clean my drawer out I put it back because I'm afraid it's something vital, lol. I hope it's not something embarrassing, if it is just PM me the answer.
Oh, that's quite a puzzle. I am not a handyman but I think that is some kind of a hook that you attach to the ceiling. Those 2 holes are for the connection, can be screws or nails maybe. However, that pointed think attaches to another plastic. In other words, that thing is just part of a pair like the nut and bolt. It can be a strap of a bag with a snap that connects to that pointed thing. Just a guess.
I have no idea, I wouldn't have a hook that attaches to the ceiling though, at least I don't think I have a reason to have one. I thought hook of some kind at first too but I usually but those kind that stick to the door and they can be taken off with no damage to the surface.
I don't know what it is and don't want to guess either. Going to follow this thread to find out what it is, lol!
Where are the men? I've had it for so long so there must have been a reason for it to be in my junk drawer.
It looks to me more like a latch of some kind than a hook that you would hang something on. I am not sure what it would latch, but that's my guess. Is it plastic? I think it is, but it is a little difficult to tell.
Yes, it's plastic. On one side in very tiny letters it's says "safety" had to use a magnifying glass to read that. I have nothing that latches but maybe I had one of those white plastic gates that you use for babies but that would have been very long ago when my grandsons that live in CA visited me as babies. I also have no recollection of having those at my house. I had a pen for my dog but it was gold and metal.
Could it be one of these, @Chrissy Page ? this does look similar. If so, check your cupboard doors, and see if one is missing.
Yep! Yvonne gets the prize! I remember now that Pickles would always try and open the cabinet under the sink where my garbage can is. Lol! I don't use it anymore because he's learned so I must have taken it off and thrown it in my junk drawer which is right next to the sink.
Yep, I just looked at the inside of that cabinet and there are 2 tiny holes where the screws must have been, so my ex installed it. Mystery solved and I can throw it out now.
It's for childproofing your cabinets, scroll down and this one is a few down, this person doesn't recommend this for babies but I used it for my dog and he couldn't open it yet I could easily. http://parent.guide/how-to-baby-proof-your-cabinets/
Well Dachshunds are know for being gluttons and he will even look through a garbage can if there's thrown out food in it. He figured out how to open the cabinet with his paw, he doesn't do it anymore though. Probably still thinks the latch is on there.
Could be why you forgot about it Chrissy - good eh If he does have another go, you know what to do, get yer gadget out - sorted
