Noise doesn't bother me...I tend to tune it out. Wether it's quiet or noisy where I am...it's all the same to me.
I used to be ultra sensitive to noise. It doesn't bother me as much as it used to. One thing I can't stand is the boom boom from a stereo. Luckily I have never had that issue at this apartment. They are strict on noise. I heard more stereo noise living in that horrid house from neighbors blasting stereos outside (there were two that did that) and LOUD surround sound TV. Real jerks. Oh and not to forget the punk kid who got the drums at Christmas.
Got to play a set of drums somewhere. When we are on our boat, people know we are tied up at the public dock due to our music. Not blasting, but, but definitely not low either.
We now have to wear foam earplugs when going to a movie, even though we sit in one of the back rows. I have an electronic safety muffs I wear at the Range and wife wears regular safety muffs there. Due to the high music, we can’t go to any concerts.
It's a good job my neighbours like my music as I tend to play it rather loud ... funny, a new neighbour moved next door awhile ago and I went out the backyard thinking that I'd left You Tube playing on the tv .... it was my new neighbour playing exactly the same songs, ...( Kenny Rogers, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson etc) so cool I now just sit outside and listen rather than scroll thru' my own lists ... neighbours on other side are a lot younger but tell me that they like the older stuff too. I have to move house soon, so hope I get country music lovin' neighbours again.
When I worked I would day dream about all the wonderful things that I could do when I was no longer tied to a job. As it turns out I have to force my self to get dressed and go to my car. When some one calls and wants to do something it sounds great but when the time comes to go, it seems more trouble than it's worth. So now most times I just decline.
Basically our lifestyle is boring to many and at times to us...or me at least. I retired 4 years ago. Aside from work around the aptt. - my plants mundane tbings, I dont do much. Hubby still works and he takess the car...except when I have things I need to get done then I take him to work. His job is only about 7 miles from here. Sometimes there are dr appts for us or the GD or even my daughter. I enjoy not having to answer to anyone and taking my time getting things done. We like our quiet predictable life. And we purposely have no beds or couch for anyone extra to sleep on
Yes I find that now..I can't stand the music so loud at the theatre or concerts so I have to wear earplugs. I know it's not a problem with me, it's just the music is so much louder than it once was..it's no wonder rock musicians, and Sound recordists all end up with severe problems with their hearing...
My lifestyle is hard to describe. I don't think I have a style. I'm not so steady on my feet as I would like to be, but I still like to work outside as much as possible. I've got to put a new chain on the chainsaw today. I also read more and watch tv more. Lately I've really got into cooking, trying new recipes and making up my own. I'm getting good at it too, my waistline is proof. I've been in love with Martha Stewart for years. I still love Martha but I've found a new love recently. Her name is Natasha and you can find her at Natasha's Kitchen. Google it or look for her on facebook.
I find all this to be true in my life often too Chris. Especially if it is night time things my family wants to do or my grandkids are involved in. I just don't do night things hardly ever anymore.
