I was there for 6 months one time - the longest six months of my life - and swore I'd never go back. I was there for a job, programming a nuclear power plant control room simulator. I was working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a rotating night shift. I was living in a roach infested Holiday Inn. And when they say everything is bigger in Texas, let me tell you, they're not kidding. The roaches were a least 6" long - the little white mouse that visited me every night could ride them like a horse!! Anyway, I may be a little biased!!
Congratulations Ken, you were the first to answer this question. I now present to you the 2015 Blue Bonnet Trophy!!
Beautiful photo Mal.....thank you for locating it for our viewing pleasure! You are definitely our online resource for great things!!
My home state, Texas!! I was born in San Antonio and spent most of my younger years there. I always looked forward to the blooming of the bluebonnets every year. They were the sign that Spring had finally arrived. To look out of the fields of blue dotted with red Indian Paintbrush and the delicate yellow Buttercups on their delicate stems waving in the breeze. And tho smell the breeze sliding over the flowers bringing their wonderful smell,,, I swear, Bluebonnets smell like Grapico Soday!! I live in Alabama now and try as I can, I just cannot get them to grow here. Their is just something about the soil in Texas.
I am not fond of Texas but those flowers are beautiful. And now, thanks to you, Susan, I can't get rid of the jingle in at the end of this commercial!
All right, call me silly but my first thought was that you were referrimg to the blue bonnett hat. I had forgotten there was also a flower called the blue bonnet. The flower is quite beautiful by the way. I have never actually been to Texas and I had no idea that this state had so many of these flowers around it.
