Yes, North Carolina. I've only traveled through it, for stopovers, and the people at the airports were always extremely nice and polite. I miss the hot lemon towels on Piedmont Airlines.

  5. I was only there once when I was 12 yrs old. I met a couple of little kids and they didn't know what I was talking about when I asked why they were going to school on Abraham Lincoln's birthday.

The Nutmeg State... Connecticut. (I cheated.)

As far as North Carolina, that's where our daughter-in-law was born and raised. She talks funny!:D Has a very noticeable "Southern drawl". Our son met her when he was at Ft. Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne. We've visited NC a couple of times.

Some years ago, played golf at a course which straddles the NC/SC State Line. The pro shop was in South Carolina. SC has "blue laws" so they can't sell beer on Sundays. NC doesn't. The course weaved back and forth across the state line. There were "halfway houses" on the NC side for those who wanted to drink.
