The 60s for me, wasn't just the fashion - everything that went with it - make up, hair shoes - loverly Once the 70s were over, fashion got lost I do like earlier decades though
My mother also enjoyed the 60s. She made all of her clothes back then. The first pattern was mostly what she made.
Clever lady - I 'wish' I had the talent to make my clothes, have you had a go Von ? To be able to wear your own creations, FAB !
Yes, I made several of my own clothes before having children. My preference was 2-piece suits and jumpers but I did sew a lot of other pieces.
We have a reality show over here called 'Sewing Bee' its great to see men and women making the clothes and whoever does the best result - wins that week Unfortunately someone has to leave the show that week too ..........
Is it like "Project Runway" in the US? I used to watch that. It was more about designing. Some were quite ugly but that's the way most runway shows are....the more outlandish, the better. I like the mid to later 60's but the he was always something in each decade that was nice at the time. Looking back it looked ridiculous like shoulder pads, lol. What I liked had more to do with the style that flattered me. Certain lengths look better on me than others, etc.
@Chrissy Page I agree with your last paragraph, I don't care what fashion dictates, if I don't like it I won't wear it Its certainly harder to find what I like these days, it seems when you reach 50 + you are supposed to suddenly become Miss Marple !
