We were running the streets all day so we stopped at an Italian restaurant for supper. I had chicken marsala, salad, and too many breadsticks. Brought most of the marsala home due to the breadsticks.
I ran across this thread and it saved me from threats of being sent for dementia treatment. I remembered that some of the Grandkids are coming over and Grandma promised them Grandpa's chili for supper. Now with 2 lbs of grass fed, but well marbled chuck roast cut up, browned, and now simmering in chili seasoned tomato sauce with pinto beans, I can relax. It should be ready by 4, so I was cutting it close. I let it ride on simmer for 8 hours. it will be the first Grandpa ranch chili for the Great Grands, now 2.
Chicken taco soup and tortilla chips. For soup toppings... chopped green onion, sour cream, grated cheese, jalapenos.
My Leftover Soup... you have no idea how empty the fridge looks now.. its all in a pot, with corn bread coming.
It was chilly here all day……. Winter is on the way…..sadly……so I made a lentil and veggie soup for today, nice and hot and filling. Plus we still have some of the apple fiber cake we are having with coffee. Was going to make pineapple ice cream, but it is just too cold. I will wait and make it once it warms back up the end of the week.
We're having our first "cold snap" so I'm making a pot of chili and a pan of cornbread. Maybe salad or coleslaw, too.
