    Don't let Cody know.

I've been working with Lighthouse for the Blind in getting a Special Permit for the visually impaired; you know, restricted hours solely for them to go to work, food shopping and the liquor store.

We just work around here. I don't think either of us could hold down a job mentally or physically.

She is amazing, have you seen this gymnast? Some people like the 14 Y.O. vet. Not average for sure.

Good genes for a lot of people I suspect. I fell a second time on my front porch today when my left foot did not lift me over the short top step up on my porch. I had a sack of groceries in my right hand and had just tossed all the cat feed dishes laying around the front porch from my feeding the two waifs that dine here each morning. I was having my grass cut so I thought I should pick those up. The porch was covered with those plastic entree dishes I use to feed those cats. I was fine because my jeans kept me from getting scratched up. I just landed on my left side, the knees are at fault and have no rotation in them. The first time I fell it was the same problem and I was doing the same thing except not tossing cat dishes on the porch. Most of the time I just put my groceries thru the bedroom window and only because the time I get home I am beat and don't feel like toting that stuff to the front porch. I came in and it was so hot out there I lay down and had a very good nap and never got up until 5 this evening. Record heat index and more to come but more rain hopefully. Most people don't like it but then most of them aren't 74 and can't take the heat. Even the three cats inside have slept all day because it was so cool indoors. ;0)

Isn't discrimination by age against the law?

As I said if she's capable of doing the job properly I don't see what the issue is. Found this online...
"The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) forbids age discrimination against people who are age 40 or older." However, that's no guarantee. They may tell you it's some other reason to cover it up. I don't think they're forced to keep an older worker who can't perform their job duties.

Also, employers have you sign consent that when they hire you it's "at-will" meaning either you or they can end the employment at any time for any reason. However, they can't fire you because of your age. But they can fire you if you're not able to perform your duties and get your work done.

i will also add that i knew a lady that was close to retirement and they let her go so they wouldn't have to pay her the retirement money. so there's nothing saying they won't or can't it's just a matter of if.
