So much crime. So much protesting. For many, the COL is so high. IOW, so, so many people are unhappy! Can America turn around and get better?

Ideas and/or opinions on what can be done?

As I posted in another thread, it is amazing how missteps by the Left and 4 years of Trump have pushed the decline down the road a few years. Obama left the judgeships open because he knew Hillary was going to win. The polls had already been rigged to make it happen. Fortunately, they miscalculated the size of the Trump vote. The action by Harry Reid to make confirmations of judicial nominees a simple majority vote to bypass minority filibuster allowed Trump to push through a large number of judges with a conservative view. If the Democrats had not been so arrogant, much of what was accomplished by Trump despite the constant barrage of "Hate Speech" against him could not have been accomplished. The nation will still collapse, but it has been deferred by a couple years.

As long as career political figures want more power, which is always, the short answer is No.
The only time they seem to care about what is going on is just before an election and then the caring stops just after an election.

So, just what should political figures do about all of the crime in the U.S. and, just how can they make people in the U.S. more happy??

We have a lot of mentally unhealthy people killing fast-food restaurant people over whatever. We have gun battles going on in malls/shopping centers. How can America stop drive-by shooting/killings?

A number of questions, but very, very few answers. Why is that?

Perhaps it is time to review II Peter 2:21-22
For it is better for them not to have known righteousness than to have known it and backed away from it.
They shall be as a dog returning to it’s own vomit or a freshly washed sow to it’s wallow.

King George might have disagreed but the U.S. wasn’t founded on a single person’s greed but on the principle that all men have God given rights.
In other words, we were once a nation founded upon a certain set of ethics and morals that were at the time heretofore unknown to the rest of the world.
Yes, there were many things our founders did incorrectly but the bottom line was the same and that was to produce a free nation that sought after righteousness and not after that which destroys the soul and a nation.

Sadly, what this nation once knew, it has backed away step by step from that which was once considered good and made it evil and that which was evil is now considered good.
We are a jaded nation in that all the evils that have multiplied themselves exponentially are common place and though the occasional good does bring about a small tear for the sake of good things, the wallow which seems to pleasure mankind wins over that which is clean.

We ARE that Babylon of old and those ships that Revelation speaks of do indeed sit out from our shores and the sailers do indeed lament at how great we once were and say now we are destroyed

Now, how can we become better? Return to He who once blessed this nation is the answer but not to be a defeatist, that won’t happen. America tasted of the forbidden fruit and it’s people like the taste and they will continue to eat until He comes back to clean up the garden.

And I’m more than happy to say……..that time is coming very quickly.

The president of the World Bank outlined the strategy for remaking the world in an interview with CBS News, but it appears they have taken the interview down. Interesting. The summary encoded was they intend to inflate away regular fiat currencies and institute a digital currency or set of digital currencies to remedy what they have created. It appears Mr. Malpass has pulled a
Biden and let the cat out of the bag. Here is the link, but I don't think it works:

I'm not optimistic. In my lifetime, we've had only one president who seemed to recognize and to have a desire to get off of the wrong road we're on. While our future was never intended to be so firmly in the hands of one man, a president, in recent years we've come much closer to an autocratic government. That said, a president who is not willing to wield these powers will be ineffective, and I don't see anyone on the horizon who is likely to make effective changes in the direction we're on.

I will probably just die hating a lot of people for what they have done. There is still the good news that most of those people are older than myself and maybe I will live to see them go first. As far as the crime don't be surprised to see vigilantism make a big come back. It will be out of necessity because we see what is happening with a dead justice system. When you have a proven thief and liar sitting in the white house you know things are really bad. Lastly I think the bad guys are going to suffer just as much as the good due to their own criminal acts and greed that has rooted itself in the economy. Unfortunately it will all stop just as soon as the Nation is penniless and broke, then anything goes !

From what I remember, economic growth started to slow down after the early 1960s. This was followed by a drop in real wages and chronic trade deficits after the 1970s. Finally, overall debt started to soar during the early 1980s. Total current debt is now over $90 trillion, excluding over $170 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

Oh, I'm sure you can find a progressive "economist" who would support that, but no one who lived in those years would have noticed. Anyone who couldn't find a good job in the 1960s and 1970s was either not looking or unwilling to do a good job.

That would be credit cards, not the economy. A lot of people, myself included, had trouble with the responsible use of credit cards.

Reducing crime is easy: Punish those who commit it. But they're doing the opposite.

The left is doing it on purpose. They want us scared, confused, hungry (literally), dejected, divided and looking to them (government) to "fix" everything. At some point the masses will give up every liberty they have if government promises to "fix" everything. This ain't rocket science to figure out, it's just the history of Man.

As a born pessimist I think it's too late, I think we're past the tipping point. I think all of western civilization is doomed. I'm not a historian, but I'm not aware of any revolution like this that was halted midstream and reversed by the people rising up.

I hope I'm completely wrong about everything.

    Well, there is precedence .....
Increasing crime is easier. People just 'go along' for the ride, letting the "leaders" get away with crime more and more.
The punishment is often non-existent today, but
will certainly be accomplished when the Judge of the world arrives, eh ?
Half a century ago, Corrie ten Doom noted that the world is under a death sentence that cannot and will not be pardoned. People all will reap what they sow, and the world is coming to an end exactly as written, though none of the known religions will or do tell the truth about it , nor will they teach people how to live and work together, and how to have life in the next world.
