In my view the opinion if us is not plummeting. We do view ourselves as men of the community of nations. However we are not about to become slaves to that community. We are already a leader in the community. The green party just has a different option from a few of us outliers.
https://www.newsweek.com/libertaria...ising-appearances-2020-election-polls-1519464 Libertarian and Green Party Candidates Are Making Surprising Appearances in 2020 Election Polls The Green Party was blamed by some for Donald Trump's victory in 2016, saying that it siphoned votes from the Democratic Party ticket. This article clarified a few things for me. I had not thought of the Green Party as being left of the Democrats or the Libertarian Party as being right of the Republicans. It's obvious once noted but that role for the two major alternative parties hadn't occurred to me. The unlikely outcome of this is.... ready for it? ....Donald Trump supporters should encourage the Green Party's campaign because it will divide the left vote.
I wouldn't consider the Libertarian Party to be to the right of the Republican Party. Of course, with the Republican Party, you have two distinct factions: conservatives and neo-conservatives, the latter of which are conservative on some of the social issues but are pretty much hand-in-hand with the Democrats on any of the issues relating to globalism and trade, although they use different rhetoric in order to appease the conservatives in the party. With their support for open borders and their opposition to the US getting a fair deal on trade, as well as their positions on most social issues, the Libertarians would be indiscernible from the Democrats except for their support of the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the Constitution. I don't know much about the Green Party, but it seems like they're pretty much to the left of the human race. Except in an election year, they'd favor killing people in order to fertilize the earth, I think.
our military budget has increased out of all proportion to any threat.... not crazy talk.. maybe someone's perception... no one knows the future...of any threat
I hadn't heard that the Greens kill people to make fertilizer. If the fertilizer is good I guess that's okay. It is odd that conflicting ideologies can coincide in many ways, as you correctly point out about the Democrats and Libertarians. I think that's why I've always shied away from ideologies in general. Groupthink.
As I conceded, I don't really know much about the Green Party, but I didn't want that to get in the way of having an opinion.
