I grabbed it and threw it on Hubby, which of course he jumped out of bed and threw it on the floor.
He had no problem getting up,
Hubby hates spiders and I don't care for them crawling on me either but don't have a real fear of them. My oldest daughter will go nuts just looking at a spider.
So I need to check around bed, make sure they aren't poisonous Brown Recluse.

It was a large one so hoping it is just a wood spider, which is harmless.

Last fall, I was bitten by what was apparently a brown recluse spider. I am not sure when it bit me because i didn’t see it or feel the bite; but the area around the bite became very swollen. It looked like I had a small volcano growing on my arm, and then it began to flatten out and spread even more.
I ended up having to go to the Wound Center and they had to cut off the bad parts so that it could heal, and it was still several months before it was back to normal.
I definitely should have gone to the doctor and had it taken care of before it got so bad.

I think that the spider was outside where I was pulling down dead morning glory vines; but fall is when they sneak into the house because it is cold, and he might have done it when I was sleeping. I am glad that you were able to kill the one that was on you, @Marie Mallery , before it bit you !

Oh my goodness ,that was a bad bite Yvonne. Glad you went to doctor in time.
My niece wasn't so lucky she lost half her calve to a Brown Recluse bite as a child, she still has a big dent in her leg calf now in her early 40s.
I wiull be checking the bedroom over for them. May be the chimney they are in or vents since just turned on heater to air out for winter.

My wife often complains of spider bites, but I live in the same house, yet I rarely even see a spider and have never been bitten by one.

We have these black and yellow spiders all in the woods here and they like to make webs 4 or 5 feet high across paths. I've had many across the face accidently walking into the web the past 25 years. Locals call them Orb Weavers and they are poisonous but not deadly. I never gotten bit thank goodness. They are large but not as large as Brown Recluse which mainly like to live inside homes.

If brown recluse are bigger than our orb spiders, I won't worry because I would be able to see them with no problem. We have several varieties here. They come in in the fall. I vacuum them over the winter. My friend says they just climb back out of the vacuum. I don't think so but I would not know if they are the same ones I sucked up already or not.
I have not been bitten by spiders often
The winners this year were chiggers. Even more than mosquitoes.
