A new television series is scheduled to kick off this coming Wednesday, night, June 20th, at eight o’clock central daylight time premiering on Paramount Network or Spike. It’s called Yellowstone. Filmed in Utah and Montana, Kelvin Costner has the lead role as owner of a western ranch the size of New Jersey. It’s not a cowboys and Indians western, the major players are land developers, oil companies, and politicians on the take. I understand Yellowstone is a ten series undertaking. If you don’t know about it and are interested in this sort of thing, this is a heads up.
I watched the two hour premier of Yellowstone. I thought the beginning was a little confusing possibly because I didn't wear my hearing aid. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have mentioned it on this forum. It was set in the West and could be said to be a modern day western but the language was a litrtle raunchy, and a couple of scenes were adult material. I was not familiar with the Channel showing Yellowstone so I really didn't know what to expect. It was probably not good viewing for intelligent folk. But all that said, I will watch it again this week.
That's okay, @Bill Boggs. Some people may like it, others may not, and there's certainly no harm in posting it. I won't be able to see it until it comes to Netflix or Hulu or somewhere.
Is this the same series that is entitled "1883" on Paramount? If so, I am watching it now. Later... Oh wait, I see that 1883 is a prequel. I guess I'll continue watching it and then watch Yellowstone.
Don’t think so, @Ken Anderson but Yellowstone has been on Paramount as Yellowstone…Think 1883 is a sequel to Yellowstone.
I just watched the first season of 1883 on Paramount. There's not nearly as much cussing as you guys say there is on Yellowstone. In fact, they threatened to shoot someone for using the F-word.
Started watching the 4th Season (1st episode) of Yellowstone. The "F" words were flying in this episode, mainly by Beth, as usual. Rip takes care of a dude that Beth ran into, in a previous episode, illegally fly fishing in a stream on Sutton property and took care of him. Actually, a rattler did the job of getting rid of the guy. Weird thing, at the beginning of episode 1/Season 4, Yellowstone goes to the sequel, 1883, for a few minutes. Don't know why.
We want to see the final Season (4) of Yellowstone, before checking out 1883. Yellowstone comes free to us, but with commercials. If we got it without commercials, we'd have to pay for the channel.
I liked 1883, although only one season is available thus far. I'm watching an old Oregon Trail series right now, but will probably give Yellowstone a try when I'm through with it.
