@Holly Saunders, Fish fingers are fine with me as long as they are cut from the filet and not made with minced fish. The minced fish sticks remind of when I was a kid and my mom's budget was sinking for the third time. Tonight I'm having leftovers. Turkey in gravy, mashed yellow turnip, cabbage salad and green beans with a few dried cranberries scattered amongst them. Maybe later I'll have a scoop of vanilla ice cream and two or three ginger snaps. These little cookies pack a lot of flavor!
After a slight detour on my diet yesterday, it's back to eating right. A salad with turkey and some fruit tonight. Question: why does sugar free taste so BAD! Never mind, just missing my treats... And completely off the subject, I had to buy one of those pill cases with the letter for each day marked on it. First for everything I guess.
Dinner was Thanksgiving left overs, of course. Leaving early tomorrow for a 3 day, 2,000 mile road trip, so no more left overs. We do mostly drive thru fast food on the road.
About a half pound of bacon and a half loaf of Honey Wheat bread. Bacon sandwiches...breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also some fried cabbage somewhere in between lunch and dinner. All good.
Stuffed pork loin, baked plantain chips, steamed brocoli & pear cake for dessert. To stuff a pork loin cut at least 6 inches out of the center of a whole loin. Make a slice lengthwise about 1/2" deep. Then begin to fillet it ending with a slab that looks like the kind cake used for a jelly roll. Line the length with your favorite bread stuffing, roll it, line some more continue this until the loin is completely rolled. Tie and bake. Green firm plantain sliced on a mandolin, hand pressed to flatten then baked makes a good alternative to potatoes.
Left over chicken salad, wrapped in a slightly browned large flour tortilla. Not bad. Neater than bread. Stuff didn't drop out the sides.
Corndog, two pieces of celery and a little soda. Tonight, however, it will be a Mexican dinner, with a tasty margarita, at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Tomorrow morning, breakfast "to go" from Waffle House, that we will eat at home with a Bloody Mary.
I was tired of the same routine for my meals and for tonight's dinner I ordered on line through GrubHub. The Green Curry with pork, rice, green beans, mushroom, bamboo etc. arrived on time, hot, and delicious. I have left overs for tomorrows lunch. I love Thai Food. The price was right and I will for sure use the service again.
