Supper tonight was a meatloaf... I used minced chicken, egg, scraped zucchini, ketchup, herbs and spices.. Baked at 375 in a loaf pan till brown on top.. Coleslaw... sliced mushrooms with a sauce was the veggie..
Supper was chicken drums dry marinated and on the BBQ.. A salad from our garden ... Using fresh veggies from the garden is the most flavourful salad of all.. Frozen blueberries with a bit of splenda and heavy cream.. Let the frozen berries sit in the cream for a few minutes and they freeze the cream making blueberry ice cream...
Sounds pretty good, I would NOT use splenda in my life, would substitute with stevia if I need something sweeter...I usually don't.
Supper tonight will be fish...... Salmon fillets in the fry pan and dry marinated first.. Turnip I picked yesterday from our garden.. I will cube it, steam it till tender, add in the bowl some butter and parsley... That's all !!!!
Where I live, splenda or sweet & low are the only sweeteners available.. Splenda is the better choice.. As far as chemicals goes, I have never had a problem with splenda.. What will it do to me?? Shorten my life... I am already old !!!! Pushing 80.... Some sugar free foods are sweetened with aspartame.... Stevia isn't invented yet up here...
There is very healthy low carb pasta Steve. Check out Dreamfields. I am 6 feet four and 180 lbs.and will keep it there after gaining from a skinny 165 lbs.
I never heard of Dreamfields.. We don't have that up here.. Where did you buy it ??? We have regular pasta and that's all..... We also have a whole wheat pasta .... Please remember where I live..... On top of lake Huron in Northern Ontario... I live in a small village of just under 1000 folks.. Most of them are farmers or work in the lumber business..
For supper tonight I ended up taking out of the freezer a package of B/S chicken thighs that I cooked in a honey/garlic sauce in the fry pan.. Steamed cauliflower.. Spiked butterscotch S/F pudding ....
Today we are off to Sudbury to see the movie "Downton Abby".. After the movie, we will go to Wallmart to shop and I will most likely buy a BBQ chicken to take home and it will be our supper... A chicken is good for 2 meals each as I like the dark meat and my wife likes the breast.. A coleslaw, which is fast and easy, will go well with it...
