Happy New Years, everyone! Probably, most of us are beyond the time when we might be driving drunk and crazy this evening (or tomorrow), but I'm sure that's not true of everyone who might be on the road, so be safe if you're traveling anywhere over the weekend. This forum will be three years old in January of 2018, as it began in early January of 2015. Some of those who were with us then are still with us today, I think, while others have become just as much a part of our virtual family. Old or new to this forum, I wish you all the best in 2018.
TO ALL OF YOU ! Wishes for a healthy - happy year ahead Never from our thoughts those we have cherished
Happy New year Ken and Michelle, and to all my Friends on here may you have a much better 2018.... ..and remembering friends passed this year, Ike, Gary and Ina...
2018. Let's see now. 18. Normally, other than the date one becomes a legal adult in the U.S.A., it wouldn't resonate as being anything of any value. But, deciding to find something useful for the number, I looked up the numerological meaning of it and found it interesting and perhaps a little more hopeful than the dreaded 17 was, for it applies to business and material acquisitions. (a groan may be uttered at this point) Yes, the hopeful number 18 applies to "humanitarianism, independence and building something of lasting benefit." Now that definition is something one can sink their false teeth into! Thinking about it though, I do not believe for a second that simply because we are coming into the 2018th year of our Lord that it is going to be a year that will miraculously superimpose it's later numerical symbol upon the entirety of the planet and we will all be singing Kumbaya throughout the new year. What I do believe is that no matter the number, we can all exhibit a little more of our independence by the show of how truly connected we humans can be and how kind we can be toward each other. Perhaps, just perhaps THAT will be the legacy we as seniors can leave behind that will indeed be of a lasting benefit for the future. Certainly, though they are not physically with us any longer, Ike, Ina and Gary did their own part and in their own ways to usher in and be remembered in this year of 2018 and I thank them for it. All that said, I do pray that each and everyone here has a Very, Very Happy New Year!
ha, I would keep your fingers crossed if I were you..I was born on the 17th and it's been a terrible year.. so good luck with that lol
Ha ha...I'm not holding my breath, just hope it's better than last year. It wasn't a horrid year but wasn't great either, not one of my better ones that's for sure.

For some reason, the massive fireworks displays traditionally presented up and down the Colorado River here have been ruled out this year. Not sure if it was due to edict by Bureau of the Interior, possible brush fire hazard, environmental contamination concerns, or just plain growing stinginess on the part of the resorts. Frank
wishing SOC the best wishing you all good health and good cheer only a second away from 2017 and one second into the new year.
