From what I understand, some folks absolutely can't take any time off from work due to sickness, because the company doesn't have Sick Pay and the person can't go without a day of pay. What we need in the U.S. is to have people wear those surgical masks if they are sick. When my wife got the flu a year or so ago, and I took her to her doctor, I got one of those masks for her to put on. The doctors office had a container of them outside the receptionist window. However, I'm sure there would be those that would absolutely detest wearing one. Some folks just don't care about if others get what they have. Terrible thing.
At the walk in clinic the person doing my intake put one on herself. I said "protect yourself" I wasn't a bit offended. I just saw someone at Trader Joe's with a face mask on today. She appeared younger. Jobs will bully employees into working. When I called in once my boss got mad at me and hung up. However when I call in, there is nothing they can say to make me come in because if I'm calling in, I'm sick! Also they post on the door about visitors not coming into the facility if they have any cold or flu symptoms. No mention of the staff however.
@Cody Fousnaugh @Kitty Carmel She has taken Iboprofen, and for the nagging dry cough I broke out the Dextromethorphan gels I occasionally use. She says the coughing is the worst part, hurts her head and chest. This morning her temperature was below 100`, giving her the impression she would be well enough to go to Laughlin this afternoon. Then, it started climbing again. We went nowhere. Frank
I wonder just how effective those gauze or cloth face masks are, for the afflicted or otherwise. Bacteria and viruses cling to minutely tiny water vapor droplets in the air, and are everywhere-present. Such vapor easily passes through any but the finest of membranes or activated charcoal canisters. Better than nothing, I suppose. My fingers (and toes) are crossed: so far I feel fine. (The toes are permanent, due to arthritic cock-eyeing). Frank

As a dentist my daughter wears a face mask everyday but I don't know if it's for her protection or the patients.
I didn't know your daughter was a dentist. I think it's for their protection. All the work they do makes unseen particles fly around. At my dentist office they use masks and goggle type glasses also.
Yes, she uses goggles also. My son is also a dentist and they are married to dentists. Lots of dentists...
Wow! Everyone must have fantastic teeth. I assume you get free dental work. I worked with a nurse who's daughter was a dentist and everytime she visited, she got her dental care done.
Yep, free dental. My only wish is that out of 4 dentists that one would have been a plastic surgeon. I do have a dr in the family..my brother in law but he's in NJ.
They're okay...at least they're mine. Have some crowns, etc but most was done before my daughter graduated dental school in 1997 and my son 4 years after that. Think my daughter did do a crown on me in dental school....she needed to check it off her list.
