There were those that loved the Half-Time Show with JLo and Shakira and those, well, here is what the article said: Some loud critics on social media were outraged over Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s Super Bowl halftime show. Many of them called the show “inappropriate” or "too sexy," citing some of the dance moves during the performance. Most of the complaints focused on viewers’ children and the idea that the Super Bowl is a family-oriented event (because watching people getting tackled to the point of inevitable brain damage is a great American pastime, I guess?) “Supposed to be a family half time — what we saw was straight porn,” one Georgia viewer wrote. Viewers were also offended by the inclusion of children in the show itself. “To have young girls join the show after Jayla had pole danced & practically showed all of her genital area to the entire nation is disgusting,” a Utah viewer wrote. Shame on you, “Jayla.” A Texas viewer vowed to take his interest in the “vulgar, obscene and totally inappropriate sexual content” ELSEWHERE. “If I want to see vulgar, obscene and totally inappropriate sexual content I will choose a different venue.” As “offensive” as many found Shakira and Lopez’s performance to be, the outrage is merely a blip on the pearl-clutch-inducing halftime show radar. When Justin Timberlake inadvertently exposed Janet Jackson’s nipple in 2004, the FCC received 540,000 (!) complaints.
I am liberal minded however what little I saw of the half time show - was just too much for TV period. I don't blame the parents complaining.
I haven't watched the NFL since the Kapernick B.S., so I didn't miss seeing that at all. I have seen the JLo "crotch" shots online; how ladylike. All sense of decency seems to be circling the drain.
We didn't think of it as "bad" when we watched, but afterwards we thought of the pole dancing and other dancing stuff shown and changed our minds. However, like already stated.……."can't please everyone." Then again, look at how Cher dressed sometimes at her concerts.
It totally boggles my mind how you can completely dislike a person just because they have a tattoo, but think it is perfectly fine for almost naked women to deliberately show private body areas on television, and especially on a program that is supposed to be for a whole family to watch.
Yvonne, you didn't read my post correctly! I stated, "while watching it, it seemed fine, but thinking about it later, we changed our minds". So, that's what we did "changed our minds". IOW, after thinking about it, we deemed it totally inappropriate. About the "tattoo" thing, what we dislike is the "sleeve tattoos", total neck tattoos and facial tattoos. A couple of tattoos isn't that bad, but that isn't what the Millennials and Gen X people get today. The old Navy tattoo wasn't bad either, but that sure isn't what we are talking about today. We are talking about multiple upon multiple tattoos today.
