You call that a fish?!?!? I caught the biggest white perch yesterday that anybody has ever seen. This is not the one I caught. Mine was bigger. Is it crappie season now? If it is, I'll try to catch a few of them.
Crappie season is open year round here in PA with a limit of 50 if I remember correctly. What I caught above weren't keepers but I throw everything back anyway. When you keep them the fun is over and the work begins. We don't have white perch here, just yellow.
I love me some fresh water fishing, but mostly bass. I caught a 13" crappie years ago that came in over 1#. It looked HUGE. I was shocked to see what it took to qualify for a citation in Virginia.
I fish several times a week all year long this was last winter almost freezing when the larger fish are commonly caught I go every week unless unsafe winds and take others all we fish for is stripers and hybrids all on lures never live bait, Tuesday this week we also had a great trip looking forward much to the next one

We had a great top water season with a small schooling still seen, we did very well this year on stripers, my favorite baits are the 6" Pencil Poppers and the 130mm Whopper Ploppers. Also the Zara Spooks in 6" sizes.. Most all on chrome with blue or black tops. Sometimes I go to the 7" saltwater sizes if no luck start down sizing baits, this week they like #4 Mepps Agulia non dressed inline spinner baits with silver blades for me, downsizing to me works better than just a color change, already got a Tues-Wed trip planned for next week
