Wife and I both take Metformin daily for Diabetic II. I also take a Glipizide daily for Diabetic II. I take a daily med for blood pressure and once a week one for cholesterol. I also take a daily med for osteoarthritis pain in my shoulder. So, yes, I take a few meds for things.
Finestaride, simvastatin, propranolol, daily and others I take only as needed - for osteoarthritis (lower back), and sleep3 (for sleep apnea- contains GABA and melatonin).
@John Brunner Late 2000s Dr . prescribed Flowmax, for difficulty urinating. Seemed to help a little. I quit taking it after feeling sick & queasy too much, kept peeing normally, still do with NO meds 10+ years later. Go figger. Last Christmas, lying in a hospital bed in Kingman, AZ, swollen up like a sausage, the "Hospitalist", an assigned all-around MD who checked on and frequented all the patients, loaded me up on Metoprolol for Atrial-Fibrillation and B.P. So groggy, I could not stand on my feet. Other drugs administered I've forgotten, but currently take Metoprolol twice daily, Eliquis blood thinner, and Furosemide, strong diuretic. A year ago, my hearing was still fairly good; today I have profound deafness, both ears, attributable to the drugs I got/get. Frank
I started taking Flowmax in late September and got immediate relief. But there's still an "incomplete emptying" issue, per the tests they give (I think it's ultrasound.) Late last month I saw a different urologist to have a bladder stone removed. He says he saw no restriction issue that Flowmax or any surgical procedure could alleviate, and we might talk about taking me off of it. That being said, it continues to help a lot. I go back to the original prescribing doctor next week for a follow-up emptying test. We'll see what it says. I'm sorry to hear of your drug-caused hearing issues. I had no idea that was a risk. The cure is sometimes worse than the ailment, huh?
I was DX'd in 2007 with a Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and take one pill of Imbruvica daily as my only treatment.
