Just throwing this out, I did some of my best work in the military, 18 to 21 years old. I'd hate to think the military would make a candidate wait till they were 21. You can certainly do many jobs in the military at 18, if that is what you choose. And a lot of states had 3.2% beer sales at 18 years old back then ( the 70's ).
Well Tim..I use to be thinner, healthier.....time changes things- just saying in this day and age..perhaps 21 is better. Besides-you were the exception
Which is why the majority of dems (in my opinion) do not want anything to do with voter identification cards.
As I wrote in a prior post, military personnel should be able to vote no matter what advanced age the limit might be. Some credit has to be given to those who serve this country in the military. If you’re old enough to die for this country then you should be able to have a say concerning who is running the country. I have just one last addendum to my prior posts. If an individual has passed a full term of Civics classes and has passed with at least a “C” then I might change my mind about even 18 year olds being able to vote.
"If an individual has passed a full term of Civics classes and has passed with at least a “C” then I might change my mind about even 18 year olds being able to vote." LOL! I'll notify the Board of Elections.
Actually, a similar thing has been mentioned many times over. If a graduating student has passed a civics class, he or she gets their voter’s card with their diploma. There are quite a few students (like myself) who graduate(d) at the age of 16 and many more at 17 and yes, I aced civics class. I do happen to like the idea if they are really toying with reducing the age requirement to vote as well as the idea of having a valid voter identification whether it is stamped on a driver’s license or a separate card.
As an ex-Democrat I can say I feel they are desperate now for votes since so many like myself Dem-exited right after the 2016 convention when they rigged the primaries for Hillary.
Now Frank, see here, you make much of an asterisk which is only there as one can't fully delete a post. At least I can't. Not sure if sarcasm becomes you or not so I'll just accept you as you are.
@Lulu Moppet Whatever irked you here, I do not know. I had/have no idea what an asterisk is supposed to denote in this wacky new computer world. At any rate, I surely thought you would catch and hang onto the fact that my post was aimed at agreeing with exactly what you yourself had stated, only in a somewhat stronger light. Now, "sarcasm becomes you": not clear either. My own sarcasm, or sarcasm directed toward me? So, something is wrong here. Sorry. Frank
