    From Reuters...

WASHINGTON, July 15 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden is on the brink of failing to win a key labor endorsement as leaders of the 1.3 million-member Teamsters union consider backing no candidate at all in the U.S. presidential race, according to two people familiar with the matter.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters decision has not been finalized and is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Not backing Biden, who the union endorsed in 2020, would compound political damage to the Democratic president's reelection bid.

Hi Vada, I have 3 libraries I use and I'll look now. I had a couple of his books I could "borrow" now, one from my Houston Library I a pay 20 dollars for a non-resident card. Just downloaded it ;) Edit: well I can say he had me at his intro! Been looking for a good book for days!

The Teamsters are just another corrupt political party. They endorse whoever serves they think will benefit leaderships...screw the rank & file. Unions were big on outsourcing our jobs because they saw millions upon millions of potential new members in literal 3rd World working conditions. The only impact their endorsement has is political optics.

I heard a lot of truth in what he said, even if he didn't mean it. If it helps us unite the country, and especially getting Trump back in office, than I'd say Trump was right to invite him. I also have faith in Trump's judgement, and no, he's human, and my actual faith isn't in any human.

Trump will make mistakes, just like we do, and he has to learn the hard lessons just as we do. I think what happened to him Saturday has changed some things about how he is thinking/feeling. He's a good man.

It would be a huge win to get that endorsement more for the effect it would have on the Democrat party than for the actual votes although I do think Trump would get some of them.

YES! John, I agree with every word you said but IMO Republicans need to appeal to everyone. In the last few decades the GOP has literally stopped campaigning to some groups and even in some states, NY, California and Washington, for example. A party will never get votes unless they ask for them and also explain why the voter will be better off if they stop voting for Democrats.

I agree again Vada, that was my thought last night, even though some things like he's not with either party, I just put those comments aside and thought about all the good that could come out of them siding with us whether they would fully ever stand with us, could help unite this country. How can people ever be united unless we accept others as they are, knowing we can't change them, but that they might learn way more about who we really are.

Someone I heard last night said something about how Social Media, and yapping to others, saying anything we want even if we don't mean it deep down, hasn't done anything to bring American's together. Talking with people, getting out and communicating face to face, like in older days. I could do without seeing what some say online, and I could sure do without some of the things I say online, that I wouldn't say, well mostly, say it face to face.

To a large extent, that is part of Trump's strength, that he has't written people off because they have historically endorsed or voted for Democrats. As voters, we can freely ignore whomoever we wish, largely because we can't listen to everyone, but if a candidate has the time and the money, it makes sense to go after these voters. Even if the Democrats get the majority of the black vote, the Hispanic vote, or that of any other demographic, if he can pick up 10%, 20%, or more of them, that's to his gain. I can understand not spending limited resources on states that a candidate has no possibility of winning electors from, but pretty much every state, with the possible exception of Hawaii, is a possibility for Trump this year.

I am a union supporter and I have worked in union jobs in the past; I appreciate all the gains unions have made for the American worker. That said, I don't know much about the Teamsters but I don't believe their "endorsement" of any candidate will insure the rank and file will vote that way. Most people can be members of organizations but not give a rat's patootie about endorsements.

I listened to at least some of that the union leader said, and he did not say directly that the union was endorsing Trump or the GOP party, but he said that he was definitely voting for Trump, and left it open for other union members to vote as they see fit, which is way better than having them endorse Biden, in my opinion.
The same with the lady who was a porn star and abortionist, she has a huge following, and some of those will follow her lead and vote for Trump this November.
This is a very good way to bring in people who would have normally voted democrat and never considered voting for a republican.

Plus, it helps with uniting this country again. There is the black rapper (don’t know who he even is), who’d said all his life he has been told to love Trump, and showed pictures from before Trump ran for president and how black people loved Trump. And he said that it makes no sense to now try and say Trump is racist, when he heard different all his life.
So we will have a lot more of the younger black voters, too.

I was the Chief Shop Steward in our plant and VP of our Local when I was a member of the UPIU but, except for the monthly newsletter that we got from the international office, they never talked to us about politics. Both myself and the President of our Local were Republicans, and this was in California. Maybe other unions were more politically active; in fact, I know they were because whatever union represented the workers at Great Northern Paper Company here in Millinocket, before they went into bankruptcy and closed, had a bunch of their members voting Democrat, and many of them still do. I think the biggest advantage to a union endorsement is the money that comes with it because nothing forces union members to vote the way the union wants them to vote, although some people are easily led.

You're right Ken, that is just one of Trump's strengths! You said it so well. I have never heard Trump speak bad of a voter on the other side, I can't say he never has, I don't hear all. But his remarks, "inapproprate to some", are for the Deep State crooks, and he says how I feel about them. I find a lot of people really don't understand Trump at all, but I do because I am much like him in a man ways ;)

In the meantime, Hillary refers to "deplorables" and "reeducation camps." Trump only speaks ill of opposing politicians.

Trump has campaigned heavily in traditional "gimme" districts for the Dems. His rallies in New Jersey and the Bronx are two examples. I think he drew 50,000 to his rally in Dade County, Florida as well.

That's what I've heard him say too John, and I for one don't mind him calling them what they are. Jesus called some of his opposers vipers, and that's exactly what they were, and exactly what we have on Earth today, walking among us!!

Yup. Democrat strongholds are now "in play." Let's see the Dems screw their historical constituents out of the legitimacy of the election process.
