Army Vet, 1960-66. Part of "Watchdog" Occupation Forces in S. Korea, 1961-62. Signal Corps Tech in Seoul Communications Center. Sp/4 Harold Pollner, US56332718, sir.
Yes I did at Chanute AFB which is now closed. Assigned to the 59th Training Squadron. You seem to be familiar with it.
I trained as a Aircraft Instrument Repairman at Chanute in 1952 before being sent to Korea to work mostly on the F 86 Sabre Jet instruments. The 86's were flying combat missions against Russian made Mig 15's flown by North Korean piolets, one who later defected while I was there.
I was there in 1963. I read in an earlier post you went TDY to Greenland and North Africa. I went to Sondrestrom in Greenland and Wheelus in Libyia. Same ones?
I went from Korea to Mc Dill AFB in Tampa, Fla and was re assigned to SAC and worked on B47 instruments. Went DDY to Greenland and Sidi Slamane AFB Morocco. I got a lot of travel in during my four year enlistment.
