We are handling our Stay At Home Order, but still go to the grocery store. But, after going yesterday, won't have to go back for a week or so. My wife has been, and still is, playing games on her iPhone and watching her tv shows she likes. I'm doing numerous things at home, just like I use to when we lived in Florida.
We order a box of 50 virus protection masks on Amazon yesterday. They won't be here for awhile, but fortunately, our maintenance girl gave us a few that the office bought. We always talk to her and make her feel very good about the work she does in our apartment. I told her that I'd give her a 5 Star review and me saying that, she got a little teary-eyed.
No way would I order face masks when they are in short supply. I have one left over from drywall sanding, if they force you to wear one, I'll use that, or make one.
If they were in such short supply, Amazon wouldn't be selling them. The manager of our apt. complex bought four boxes (50 each box) from one of her vendors. I don't know if it was the face masks that are in short supply or the N95 ones. There are those that have a breathing filter installed in them that can cost.
If 100 million people all order face masks at the same time, I figure they will become in short supply. I'll do the distancing thing for now.
Well, we are both Diabetic II, so...……...we have to do what we can and think now is necessary. And, now that the Mayor of Los Angeles has requested that all residents there wear a mask, that's going to be a whole lot of people buying them online.
President Trump recommended using scarves as face masks...I have plenty of those plus my daughter is sewing some face masks. My sewing machine needs some repairs right now so I can't make any. But I did give material and elastic for making them.
We had to wear HEPA filter masks when we were transporting some patients from the INS detention facility in Bayview, Texas. Diseases I hadn't heard about except in the history books were showing up in people at the detention center, particularly the large Chinese wing of the facility. On the positive side, these were people who had already been diagnosed by a physician at the facility so there weren't any surprises; we'd know what we were going to be dealing with before we left the station so we could be prepared. However, it was a 40-50-minute transport, and if you've ever had to wear a HEPA filter mask for any period of time, you'll know that it's hard to breathe with those things on. It might filter out the contaminants, but it keeps out most of the oxygen too, it seems. The HEPA masks were also expensive, and had to be fitted to the person who was wearing it, but those costs were figured into the contract we had with the INS. The paper-based masks are better than nothing, but they're not a sure thing.
My Mahjong was interrupted this morning by an ad which had some very stylish and by the looks of the ad, were quite well built for a viral application. The price seemed reasonable at 23 beans plus shipping but after a bit of investigating, it would take about a month to get because they come from.......China.
Is that what is in store for us with the Virus Pandemic? We're all getting a taste of what prison would be like.
Not too bad for me either. I go to post office every day and in the morning to get coffee. Occasionally do pick up shopping in the afternoon.
