Since my son is pushing 60, the rules back then were different than today, and I have very little recollection of how he was raised. I mean, I was there, but his mother was in charge of the kids.
I agree; new parents today seem very different from my "parenting style." I can guarantee that neither I as a child nor my children were allowed to talk back to any adult.
