But, if you lift anything heavy, you could mess up the shoulder and/back more. But, you already know that. MRI results are important, but, again, you know that. None of us really want to know "results", especially at our age and when we live alone.
I won't be lifting anything heavy...I'm not going to be the one moving things into his room. They actually have people there that will take everything to the room on a cart like hotels have. I'm just going for the ride and to see his campus which is nice and in a cute town. It's only a 2 hr drive but we're staying the night in a hotel and might drive to Pismo beach the next day which is only 10 minutes away. What's the point of knowing my results when nothing will be done about them any sooner? Maybe nothing will be done anyway. I don't think I'll agree to surgery at this point.
So far, nothing. I have arthritis in my fingers but am able to work it out without resorting to medication or pain relievers.
Read good results with Apple cider vinegar, have ordered some (again) didn't like the taste but will persevere this time
I have arthritis in my fingers...I use organic tumeric Golden Paste... after my daughter recommended it. She had 2 fingers torn off in an accident 3 years ago... the surgeons in Spain did a wonderful job of re-attaching her fingers but the pain was indescribable for her and although repaired she will never get the full use of her right hand again.. and the doctors told her eventually she will get arthritis in it . She already gave her older dogs turmeric for their arthritic pain so she researched it, and after at first using tumeric pills, and adding tumeric to food.. she found the Golden paste. She takes it ready made in a little tube , just a little mouthful 3 times a day after food, and now she has no pain in her hands, and although she's had to adapt, she works 7 days a week from early morning till late in a very physical job, and the tumeric keeps the pain at bay!! https://www.spiceorigin.com/products/organic_golden_paste
Thank you Lord, the only meds I take is Aleve...and that is rare. But like yesterday I got up and whole body was hurting, especially, my hands and wrists. One dose, I am good to go.
I can't remember if I posted it here so if I did, here goes again. I have arthritis in my knees. The pain had gotten so bad that I was thinking about knee replacement. Doc prescribed Tramadol but, like, @Chrissy Cross , I didn't want to take it. I looked it up and it is in the opioid family. Last spring, a friend said she had been taking turmeric capsules for her pain and it worked. I take one at breakfast and one at lunch and my knee pain is gone. They still get stiff if I sit or stand for a long time but they don't hurt.
Ive tried turmeric and it didn't do anything for me....this was about a year ago, maybe I'll try again.
Chrissy, it takes about a month for it to start helping. So I would advise taking it for at least two months before you give up. Also, it should be taken with a meal containing some kind of fat. I take some of mine at lunch and take my fish oil capsules at the same time.
@Shirley Martin - yep, read good things also for Turmeric Will try this if the ACV doesn't work - you have to give these things time
Problem with some of these arthritis pain "helpers" is the interaction with prescription meds, if a person takes any prescription meds. I take 3 prescription meds and my wife takes 1. In taking my 800mg ibuprofen, eating some food is recommended. Thing is, I've found out that when I eat something with taking the ibuprofen, I don't necessarily get the full "pain killing" that I do when I just take the ibuprofen by itself. It also seems like, at our age, when we get an injury or surgery, some type of arthritis automatically sets in and stays.
