I just started taking Boron Mineral 3mg yesterday. Didn't really notice any difference in my pain, so ended up taking an 800mg ibuprofen.

Took another Boron Mineral this AM and did notice less pain in my shoulder, but had a little arthritis pain start up last night in my right hip area, due to the weather change (rainy/cooler). It's the same hip I had a replacement done in 2005. The "achiness" comes in the area where the stem of the joint ball was hammered into my leg bone. The hip pain got a little worse as the morning went on, so had to take an 800mg ibuprofen for that.

But, from what I can tell, the Boron did help ease the shoulder pain and, of course, the 800mg ibuprofen tablet took all the pain away. Going to continue taking the 3mg Boron Mineral tablet, with food at breakfast (as preferred).

Anyone here take Glucosamine Sulfate? For a year now, I've been taking 1,500 mg (500mg 3 times daily), but it sure doesn't seem to be doing anything to my arthritis. I just read that Glucosamine Sulfate can raise BG number. Since I'm a Diabetic II, perhaps this is keeping my BG number a little to high, when I test. Think I will stop taking this, and when I test my BG again, see if my number has come down.

Just trying to find something, besides the Topricin Arthritis Cream I use, to alleviate the daily pain I get in the shoulder, is very hard to do. Since I'm a Diabetic II, I can't take anything that will lower the effectiveness of my Diabetic medicine or raise my BG.

That's the one I was referring to when I mentioned the human equivalent to Cosequin, as it is Glucosamine. It work great with my cat but I tried it for a couple of months with no noticeable effect.

@Cody Fousnaugh - the bottle doesn't say to take with a meal, maybe you should try in between meals
Also, you haven't been taking very long

My bottle, from The Vitamin Shoppe, states, "Take one tablet daily, preferably with a meal." I will do some online research about the "meal" statement.
Your bottle doesn't indicate in the Dosage Instructions, to take preferably with a meal? I don't get it, but see what I can find out.

Am also reading that, at my age and for arthritis/osteoarthritis pain, I should be taking 6 to 10 mgs of Boron daily, not the 3mg, 1x daily that is the dosage on the bottle.

Sometimes food, can lessen the effectiveness of something. Then again, there are those that have to eat some kind of food with whatever they take (vitamin or medication).

Read that glucosamine sulfate can heighten blood glucose level, so I stopped taking it last week. Conclusive evidence isn't completely available about this, but my Testing Meter doesn't lie. Tested my blood this AM and was 139, which is darn near excellent for me. However, have notice, the last few days, some hip pain going on in my left hip that I didn't have while taking the glucosamine. Will go back to the glucosamine this AM and see what happens in the next few days. If the pain continues, after restarting the glucosamine, it wasn't stopping the glucosamine that started the pain, it is something else. If the pain stops in the hip, will have to put up with the high blood glucose number in order to not have any pain in the hip.

Looks like one of those cases of "darned if I do (use the glucosamine sulfate) or "darned" if I don't.

When you are taking vitamins, it is important to take them along with food because then the body processes the vitamins along with the food and we get the nutrients from them.
If you just swallow a capsule or tablet, it can just pass right through because nothing triggers our digestive reaction like happens when we eat something. So, even if you only have a little bit of food, it can help the vitamins (and probably medications) to digest better and actually be properly absorbed by our body.

Am now taking a Tumeric soft tablet each AM and can see some improvement in pain. Wish I would've known about this supplement months ago. Wife is now taking it as well. Also taking one tablet of Boron daily.

So far, I only have (noticeable) arthritis in some of my fingers. Although the x-ray and MRI both found that it was worse in my left hand than my right, my left hand barely hurts at all, while I am feeling some pain in some of the fingers in my right hand. Maybe that's because I use my right hand for most things, or perhaps because I've broken several bones in that hand years ago. Even before my recent fall and injury, it was my right hand that hurt, but I don't think the fall helped out any. I know that some of you have arthritis that is far more painful than what I have, but I'd like to be as comfortable as possible and may slow the worsening of it, so please forgive me if I sound like I'm whining. I'm not taking any medications for it since it's not that bad yet.

Between my little finger and my ring finger, and between the ring finger and the middle finger, I have what looks like a callous on the side of my knuckles at the mid-finger, only it's arthritis and it hurts when the fingers rub together. Everything about CBD oil sounds nutso to me, but it seems to help some when I use it, or maybe I'm just imagining it due to a placebo effect. At any rate, it helps. But I am wondering if any of you have used anything like these?

I use Ibuprofen as my only med for the pains in my hand. It seems to be the only thing that works.

I ordered a set from my OTC account with my insurance company. No, it wasn’t for arthritis but they are really good for a guy who doesn’t like to wear bulky gloves. I like to sit outside on my porch and in the winter I need heavier clothing and those gloves looked like they would fit the bill. They did! My hands were warm and I could still type.

Our Humana OTC catalog has those, so Bobby and I both got some last year. They do help, and might even do more if we used them more often. They seem to help my hands and fingers stay warmer in the winter, but I don’t know that I would want to use them in the summer.

We also have something called a vibrating arthritis glove that Robin got for us. It charges up by usb and when you put it on it has heat and massage. They are expensive (over $100) but they work great and are awesome !
Again, probably not something for summertime, but if your hands are hurting, then that would overrule wearing gloves.

Oh yeah, the only arthritis thus far is located right around the optimal phalanx of my left big toe. There really isn’t much pain but when there is I take an anti inflammatory and hit it with an electric pulse. Pain all gone.

And just to add to my wife’s post concerning the vibrating gloves, once they are on a person can massage his / her neck, forehead etc via the gloves and feel the vibration quite well.
