I used to switch my Avatar a lot depending on my mood or a painting that touched me. I've used the 'old guy, sitting on the porch' for a while now. Lately, I started to feel like that guy. Tired all the time. Just wanted to sit down and take it easy. So, thought I'd switch to a photo of me when I was full of energy, ready to tackle anything! Alert facility at a SAC base, in my 20's. Doing so can't hurt. Maybe it will remind me that age really is a state of mind. Work through the pain and resist the urge to sit down.
Its worth a 'shot' Tim I guess that's Pool, don't know much about it but I love to watch Snooker and played at one time too
@Bill Boggs , I never was very good at the game, just something to pass the time. Well before cell phones, when you had to find your own entertainment. Pretty sure they wouldn't have allowed phones in those places even if they existed. Also, hope you're feeling better now. Worse feeling in the world is to feel 'drained'.
I like your new picture. I should find something better. I don't want to use a pic of my actual cats though.
Straight pool, call your shot, regulation size table, pocketted balls on break count, we played 50 balls to win, regulation pool was I think 150. Some of the old-timers, Willie Mosconi comes to mind, shot to the win if the starter missed. Record number of balls made was in the hundreds. Me, I was never too good, for some reason, even though I bought a regulation table, set it up in our basement, and practiced for hours and hours. Our co-worker, a Canadian transposed to the States at 16, Roy showed me how the spin of the balls affected their direction. Every shot he made involved "English" applied to the "shooter: (the cue ball). Generally, if two balls are "locked", touching together, English applied to the shooter was transferred to the front ball hit, which spun accordingly transferring it's spin to the "object ball", "throwing" it at an angle not natural to the set-up of the balls. Haven't played in years, and miss it! Frank
Speaking of avatars............... it is time for me to change mine and I was wondering where you guys go to get all those options... Tired of the picture of our dog.. She is a nice pooch but her time has come and gone....
@Steve North That's what I'm wondering about. My pic is just some picture of fabric I found online. I don't know what to put as my picture. And that's a very sweet pup.
Thanks Kitty.. She is really a good dog that NEVER barks unless there is a reason.. however the time has come to change the picture as most other members do and I don't know where to go to do it...
