Are you going to build a storage shed on the new deck at the back door? If so, then wouldn't this disable use of the door? I guess I'm not seeing something..... Hal
There were two doors there because these were two apartments when we bought the place. Since we took down the separation wall and made one long room of it, there was no need for the second door.
Looks good, Ken. I was with a non-profit for some years. We did quite a few porch replacements in front of trailers, as well as ramps. I always liked the clean finished look of fresh decking.
It's just a piece of metal roofing. When people put a metal roof on someone's house, they usually have pieces left over that they will either give away or sell cheap. In this case the brains behind this project (because if I tried to build it all myself, it would look like my compost pile) knew someone who had some left over. I'm hoping for a larger piece that can be used on the snowblower/lawnmower shed.
You can get roof panels from Lowes. The plastic stuff likely easier to work with than metal (lighter and can be cut with utility shears) and it comes in lots of different colors, but they have metal as well. You affix it with fasteners that have rubber o-rings to prevent leaks. I looked at it for my old shed...the stuff's not cheap. But I have a large shed.
Well, hopefully it won't be too pricey. It will probably be the most of all the materials put together, lol.
