WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Joe Biden said on Saturday the United States does not support the independence of Taiwan, after Taiwanese voters rebuffed China and gave the ruling party a third presidential term. Earlier in the day, the Taiwanese ruling Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) presidential candidate Lai Ching-te came to power, strongly rejecting Chinese pressure to spurn him, and pledged both to stand up to Beijing and seek talks. "We do not support independence..." Biden said, when asked for reaction to Saturday's elections. ... and there you have it.
He was the one who broke the "ambiguity" policy. I am thinking he was given orders from his masters in Beijing, and he is quick to obey those who are blackmailing him.
How is it that Biden is not impeached. Now he fired 60 missiles at the Houdis. What did he hit, 5? We are not ready for war and yet he just ordered an act of war. He is protecting whomever he sees fit except US. And putting us at risk at every turn.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Mike Johnson, welcomed the action as necessary but overdue. "The United States and our allies must leave no room to doubt that the days of unanswered terrorist aggression are over," McConnell said. Drain the Swamp! Impeach all of them. Impeach Hunter Biden too!
Biden has left no doubt that the U.S. is not to be trusted. We are spending billions on Ukraine that is not an ally and with whom we have no agreement or treaty, but he is turning his back on Taiwan with whom we have had an agreement, albeit ambiguous, since WWII. NATO, Japan and Australia are already getting nervous about being abandoned, for leaving Taiwan in the lurch is laving Australia and Japan in the cold as well, and we do have treaties and agreements with them. What do you think his reversal will do to the Koreas? Kim is already getting itchy since he now has firm backing from both China and Russia to do pretty much as he pleases (within limits--nuclear). We are the bully whose bluff is about to be called. No one else in the world wants to open the Red Sea with force but the U.S. and its lapdog the UK. Other nations' ships are in the area, but nobody wants to attack Yemen.
Well, I think Xi has a lot to do with the fix we are in since he controls what Biden does. I just saw a discovery of 200,000 acres of land in Oregon purchased by China that doesn't appear on the Federal Foreign Assets list. I don't know if it appears on the state and county lists. Wouldn't it be a kick if China bought huge amounts of land--reportedly most agricultural land--and didn't even pay taxes on it? Oh, what a mess we are in.
Arkansas gave them their money back and kept the land. Maybe next administration, Oregon can too. Fingers crossed. I always said we would pay out debt to China with the Grand Canyon.
China may already own the Grand Canyon. Certainly Chinese tourists here claim they own most of the National Parks in the U.S., probably because of the amount of funds China holds in U.S. debt. They don't pay taxes on that land either.
