Thanks Don. It is now 142-78-72, although I will start taking med in am until it is below 130. Only thing is it makes my bottom number low as in 60s sometimes. But since we don't have a doctor anymore I use web.
it is time for bloodwork so need to have that done. I had a lung x-ray 10 months ago, lungs ok 'so far', always scared to have that.

Hedi ,I think your right. If I'd taken med like I should, I never would have had the stroke or visited med students who brought it down too fast.

I'll be taking it daily and find a doctor who may be able to change it to one with less side effects, till then I'll take this Amolopine.

Take care and please consider taking your BP meds everyday @Marie Mallery even if you cut them in half and take half morning and night …..
How come you don’t have a regular GP …. ?? I’ve known GPs in Aust who have given up treating patients if they didn’t take thier recommended / prescribed meds ……one lady I knew was so tight with $$$ she refused to buy her meds and had BP of close to 300 ….yes 300…….so the doctor said sorry I can’t see you anymore …….yes I hate meds but what can we do …..

No Kate one got old and retired; the other one was not for us too hippy, maybe stoned.:D.
We were at UF Clinic for years but it has just changed too much. I can go to a Urgent Care if we need to.

You should probably try to find a clinic or physician who can follow your care @Marie Mallery. Urgent Care clinics are fine for short term semi-emergent needs, but they usually don't follow your care and medication history. Even a mid-level Nurse Practitioner would be okay.

Nurse Practitioners are NOT doctors. Although NPs are general (IMHO) better generally for primary care, they have a fraction of the training that a Family Practice doctor has. They are, however better than nothing and better than relying on Urgent Care for your primary care unless there is a primary care clinic attached to them, and there are plenty of bad doctors out there as well, but they are bad for different reasons.
