I'm glad she's happy, but that is not the life for me. When I see all that stuff in her van I always imagine what would happen if she had a wreck and all of that "stuff" was flying around at 60 MPH. Camping for a few days is fun; living that way all the time--not so much.
Beth, many of them don't have a choice, there are more joining her every month, Insurance and taxes are putting many seniors and others out of their homes now. Sadly, some worked and paid off their homes and lost them. I read some of the stories on forums like Van Life.
After hearing the stories about how seniors lack of preparations on trips can be fatal in this video, next trip we will bring our BOB aka bug out bag. All of these seniors would be alive today if they had just 'somewhat' prepared. All of them we're not living in aa van, a couple just day trips.
I have always freaked out after the airlines would not let me fly with knives in carry on's as I didn't trust checking my bags. Fortunately now, I am almost too poor to fly. There is seldom a day I don't use them. And if I were stranded I definitely would want them along. Of course I worry about breaking down on 41 going to Appleton. I always told my kid what to pack for trips. She is afraid of me so she did as I 'recommended'.
LOL Mary my kids still don't pack bob's but they do come in pack's, several come 3 kids and a couple grandkids. Son flys in from Texas then rides down from north Georgia with his sisters. Here in the south, it is legal to be packing.
