When my kid sister (deceased) was a little girl of about 3 or 4, she would allow her lively imagination to produce nicknames of cars based on their body styles! Cars in the 1930s-1940s were the best contenders for this purpose, as they had the greatest variety of body styles and shapes, and she really had some cute names: Smilefacer Roller Legger Taffy Peeser But my favorite was her nickname for the Ford Model A, based on its sound: She called it a "Ticky-yum". I had a cute nickname for my 1976 Chevy Monza: $hitmobile! Worst car I ever owned. The gas pump was in the tank, and it failed every three to four months. The car conked out on me, at 2 AM, in 22°F weather, heavy snow. Had to sleep in the car, in a snow bank. Made it through OK. Towed that car so many times. Got rid of it soon after I drove it from Chicago to Austin. Amazingly, it got me down here with no problems.
My sister's car nickname "Smilefacer" was in reference to the "smiling" appearance of the front grille in the makes and years of some of the cars. Hal
