I read that he's a transplant from New York... talk about culture shock. At any rate, I found his composure and presentation to be impressive despite the odd fashion choices.

I'm still puzzling about that. I looked up SS "crime" and saw that they are responsible for "currency" crimes such as embezzling and counterfeiting, which I had no idea.

That's tangential to their duty to protect politicians.

Here is part of his profile:

Chief Nicholas Derzis was born in Berlin , Germany . As the son of a Colonel in the United States Army, he lived all around the world. He lived in Arlington , Virginia for nine years until moving to Alabama in 1977. Chief Derzis began his law enforcement career as an officer with the Hoover Police Department in 1979 and has been promoted steadily through the ranks.

It's the south. He's been there 45 years, be he still ain't local.

Maybe someone made an assumption based upon his threads [clothes]. If I had to guess his origins based upon his attire, I'd say he's from 1985.

    Well, I'm shocked. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

"Carlee Russell, the 25-year-old Alabama woman whose account of her mysterious 48-hour disappearance was questioned by police, admitted she was not kidnapped, authorities said in a news conference Monday.

“There was no kidnapping,” Emory Anthony, Russell’s attorney, said in a statement read by Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis. “This was a single act done by herself.”

That leaves more unsaid than it clarifies.

I'm thinking that the local police, state police, FBI and secret service, not to mention the civilian volunteers slogging through weeds in 100-degree temps for hours on end, and the people who donated $63k will all think the "apology" is good to go.

I have to wonder how she thought she could get away with it. "They" can trace every email and phone call we make. They can see every site we visit on our computers. I sometimes think they can hear us think.

I was out at my blueberry bushes last week and mentioned to him that the yellowjackets were swarming in the bushes. The next time I signed in on my computer, there was a page on how to get rid of yellowjackets.

One thing about it, she’s checked a lot of boxes.
    She can lie.
    She can be conniving.
    She can draw money.
Her name is definitely out there in public.
She has managed to spend taxpayer money.

Yup, she’s for sure qualified for political office.
