Iceland's banned Christmas TV ad could become UK's most popular ever after it's viewed more than 30m times online following celebrity-backed campaign

• The commercial voiced by Emma Thompson was banned for being too political
• It could be set to be most popular Christmas ad ever after amassing 30m views
• Petition to release banned palm oil advert on TV gained 875,000 signatures

  Iceland's controversial commercial could become the most popular Christmas advert ever after tugging at the heartstrings of more than 30 million viewers.
  
  The 'Rang-tan' advert, voiced by actress Emma Thompson, has been blocked from TV screens for being too political.
  
  But after pleas from celebrities including James Corden and Stephen Fry urging people to watch the advert, it is now on track to become the most popular ever by the end of Christmas.

That's the new John Lewis dept store advert for 2018 @Thomas Stearn ...it's not as good as previous years, and it's kind of split the viewing public. Many feel that once a store has to use a celebrity to promote Christmas then they've lost sight of the game, other see the point of it.

Apparently Elton John, is giving his 5 million fee to Charity , good on him... ( the ad cost £7 million to make), which personally I think is obscene

McDonalds this year have released a really sweet one...it's been voted so far the best of 2018....

The Sainsbury ad was a hit in the US too, though we may have never heard of the store.

That was totally awesome.I'm upset that they would ban that.It's all true.People would have been able to institute change like the lil girl.So disappointing.
