Guaranteed, the same people who couldn’t understand the value of critical thinking (e.g. research and comprehension) when they were in school are now hanging on every word that is broadcast by the MSM. To be ignorant because of one’s laziness isn’t bliss; it’s a train wreck.
A component of this Group Think is our service economy. Regurgitating the corporate BS is not only what's required to advance your career, it's basic employment survival. With manual labor, your work product speaks for itself and your opinion is [mostly] irrelevant. In much of our economy today, your "opinion" is the only thing you're judged by. Much of the time, all you need is a compliant facade. Holding yourself out with the right demeanor is all it takes.¹ Many times the quality of decisions are irrelevant, because the results are never really evaluated by anyone. I don't know we've ever lived in a time when unaccountable overt BS would yield so much material gain for so many people...or when reasonable honesty would cost so much. Today your very livelihood depends on not confronting irrational mantras...and you come to believe that you can't change things. I think it gets compartmentalized to the degree that many basically good people don't even know they're doing it. Submission = Survival. You can see the resignation on their faces. They don't even want to see you beat your head against the wall. Just go away, please... ¹I gotta tell of my last employer, a well-respected government contractor. They had their "culture," and to their credit, were very open about it. I started off as a short-term hire, and was eventually brought on as a full time employee. When I got hired by them, I received a letter from a woman I was working with at an employment agency. It was a "Congratulations" card, with a packet of Kool Aid nestled inside. There are no pretenses to it.
I'd like to add one more "This is why we're all screwed" observation to the stupidity. On January 1, 2000 every "advanced" nation on the face of the planet celebrated the beginning of the new millennia. It was the most depressing evening of my life.
And that’s also when some folks made a ton of money selling Y2K food and other equipment in order to survive a full computer shutdown. They said, no water, no food, no electricity, the sky is falling etc……
It was 33 F. this morning here, so our growing season is nearing the end. There is some color change on some of the trees as well, but we could find no damage to crops outside. I turned the heat on in the "little" greenhouse and will start a fire in the big one if it remains clear this evening.
I wet my pants this afternoon...and my socks and my shirt....I was so sure it wasn't really going to rain, I just kept mowing. Or maybe I am getting old.
Not to worry. Biden took lessons from Obama and family. His golf trips alone cost the American taxpayer over 250K. Tack on his and Michelle’s vacations, semi and fully official trips to Europe and Asia and we have the pathway for Biden to take.
Seems the last few years here in Texas the warming has skipped us really cooler times and now with all ice and snow everywhere, I have logbooks from my family going back many years and not much changes around here summer is warm/hot winter cool/cold & has been all my life, I look at what is actually going on not the could be preaching crowds. If it were warmer my feed bill would not have increased tripled in the last week.
