I would think the stores would be happy to let you grind your coffee beans @Chrissy Cross...just give them one of your angel smiles and how could they resist. :)

I picked up my Honey from work and his store is selling the CC Mardi Gras King Cake flavor...so he bought us a bag. So tomorrow morning we will be taste testing it. :)

Let us know if it's good and how or what you think. By the way, I pay $5.69 a 12oz. Bag. At some stores the cost is six something, same price as Community's online price. Of course, we're further out in the hinterland from Community than you are. Had my DIL get me a forty oz. Breakfast Blend at Sam's. You can't always depend on Sam's having what want.

I must admit I was disappointed when I opened my bag of CC's Mardi Gras King Cake flavored coffee that I could not smell any cinnamon or vanilla. But I went ahead and brewed a pot anyway, then poured some in my cup, sweetened it with my sweetener and gave it a taste before adding my creamer...and still I could not taste the cinnamon or vanilla. So I'm not sure if I got a bag that just was not mixed with enough of these two things or what. I will buy another bag to see if this could be possible.

While I could not taste anything that reminds me of a Mardi Gras King Cake, the brew itself is light which is what we enjoy drinking and once I added a little creamer I had myself a very smooth tasting cup of coffee. So while I can say I am enjoying this bag of coffee...I am disappointed that I can not taste the cinnamon of vanilla. I use a vanilla flavored creamer do I will buy some more of that and add my own dash of cinnamon to my cups of coffee from this bag. When I buy my second bag if I still can't taste the cinnamon or vanilla I am going to leave a comment on the CC FB website about my disappointment in not tasting anything like that in my bags.

I ended up just mixing the bag we have with the rest of our breakfast blend and hazelnut coffees and the mixture tastes just fine.

Right now I would not recommend this the Mardi Gras King Cake coffee to anyone expecting to taste cinnamon and vanilla in it. But if you light a light roast with a smooth taste...this is a good bag of coffee for that. :)

Hi Barbara - We are so sorry to hear you did not enjoy your latest bag of coffee. We are happy to send you a new bag on us. Would you like to try another bag of the Mardi Gras King Cake blend or a different blend? If you can also provide the following feedback that would be great: Physical Address: Brew By Date: Time Stamp: PL Code: Store purchased from: City where purchased: Once we get this information from you we can go ahead and send you your replacement bag of coffee and file this with our customer support team. Thanks!

The above is the private message I got from the Community Coffee FB page today. I had posted on their page how disappointed I was that I could not taste any cinnamon or vanilla in the Mardi Gras King Cake blend and they asked me to private message them and share with them the details of this.

So now I am getting a free bag of coffee and I told them I would like to try another bag of the Mardi Gras King Cake blend... :)

This morning I had another private message from Community Coffee's FB page. My free bag of coffee will be on its way soon. I sure hope I will be able to smell and taste the cinnamon and vanilla in this bag. :)

Whatever happens..it was really nice for CC coffee to acknowledge my disappointment so quickly and send me a free bag of my choice. :)

Well, good on you for following up on CC's special brewed coffee. Never see any of the special brew stuff out here in Indian Territory. No beans anywhere but I think that's a merchant's choice. Will stayed tuned for further information.

I did receive my free bag of Community Coffee's Mardi Gras King Cake flavor and I was really surprised that CC sent it out to me right away. I certainly can't fault them for their service.

So this morning I opened the new bag and once again I could not smell any cinnamon or vanilla. Nor when I brewed a pot could I taste any of these two things. It's disappointing but there is still that one favorable thing about this bag of coffee...the taste is light and so goes down so smoothly that I actually would buy it again just for this. After tasting it without any creamer I added some vanilla caramel to it and then opened my jar of cinnamon and sprinkled a dash into the cup. With that added cinnamon and the vanilla in the creamer...my cup of coffee was delicious. But still tasted nothing like a Mardi Gras King Cake to me. :)

Still like I said I would buy this bag again just for the lightness of the brew and the smoothness of the coffee itself. :)

Not sure why but I have developed a distaste for dark roast coffees. Any bodies dark roast. I think maybe burnt coffee is so easy to pass off as dark roast or so I have read. Anyway light roast has more caffeine than the ark roasts.

@Bill Boggs I don't like dark roast either. But Community Coffee has many blends that aren't dark roasts. Over here they have many choices of flavors and blends to choose from too. I'm sorry you aren't able to find many choices where you are.

I'm enjoying the Mardi Gras King Cake blend even though it doesn't taste anything like a King cake. At least not to me. :) I also like their Golden Caramel blend.

For years I didn't even like coffee but there used to be a place called Pit Grill...an open 24 hour pit stop to eat and drink coffee and for some reason I loved their coffee. It was light and smooth and always went down so easy and didn't make me jittery like other coffees did.

Now I know it was because it was a light brew. Many Cajuns like their coffee dark and rich and so thick a spoon can stand up in it. :) But that is way to strong for me. I had to try different amounts and brews until I ended up with the kind of coffee I like...but the good thing is my husband loves it just the way I do...he just likes a lot more of it. One cup or mug is plenty for me.

My DIL just broiught me a pack of Trader Joe's coffee. Medium Blend is all it says other than something like if its Trader Joe's it got to be good. Maybe that's implied. The last Trader joe's coffee I drank I thought it just so so. My coffee of choice after much trial and error is that Louisiana Roaster, Community Coffee, Breakfast Blend. Adding of course, I have not tried all their coffees or most ro maybe all of the expensive coffees of the world. After all, my research started with finding the best grocery store coffee, and in reality what does that mean? Nothing really because the pleasure of drinking coffee is such a personal thing, so here's to that Monday morning cuppa some fine coffee.

I have been getting a 2-lb bag of San Francisco Bay whole-bean decaf Hazelnut coffee on subscription from Amazon.com at a decent price. I canceled the subscription because I hadn't been drinking a lot of coffee over the summer, and had three bags of it. Now, I don't see that specific coffee on Amazon.com, although they still carry a lot of other San Francisco Bay brand coffees. I still have a bag and a half, so maybe they'll have it back by the time I need it. Otherwise, I can get it from San Francisco Bay directly, but at a higher cost. I tried the San Francisco Bay K-cups but even the ones that are supposed to be light or medium roast are too strong for me. I guess it's because I can control the grind when I get whole-bean coffee. I prefer the taste when I do a coarse grind. Although I can get more coffee out of a bag when I do a fine grind, the coffee is too strong that way, which is probably why I don't like their K-cup products.
