I have nothing good to say about Half-Caff....other than it's better than no coffee at all. Now that I've gotten used to it, I may as well stay with it, even though I'm feeling wonderful physically.
Okay, the Pumpkin Spice is very good. I haven't tried the other one, but I have my doubts about it. There might be too much going on with Apple Cinnamon French Toast, and only the cinnamon part sounds like it would be good in coffee.
Having had a few more sips, the Pumpkin Spice is good, but it's not the best Pumpkin Spice I've had. I can't remember who made the stuff I liked better, but I can probably find it in my order history on Amazon. I do order outside of Amazon from time to time, but I usually order form Amazon. This is just a bit on the harsh side. Maybe I'll add chicory to the next pot. I like to try it as it comes the first time.
Something over a year ago my grandson gave ua a subscription to a 12 oz. bag of coffee every other week. It is Blue Bottle Coffee,
We both like this coffee. On the other week we have been using a Churchill coffee. Last week I bought a flovered Coffee sold by Churchill. It's a caramel flavor but its a little much. I like the Bella Donavan blend.
I did a subscription thing with Gevalia once, near the beginning of the departure from grocery store coffees.
We tried Gevalia years ago; back when they'd give a free coffee maker with an order. Haven't thought about that in years.
I still use my Gevalia thermos nearly every day, and I have had it for at least ten years. Since the coffeemaker shuts off before I'm done drinking a pot of coffee, I fill my cup and the rest mostly fits in the thermos, and that keeps it nice and hot.
Hey @Bess Barber -- what brand of half-caff do you use? My doctor has recommended that I cut down on caffeine, so I bought some Peets decaf k-cups to try. I'm not sure I can go "all the way" with decaf, though.
The only one I have found is Folgers. Specialty or online shops may have other brands, but not WalMart or Winn Dixie. There isn't even a Great Value version. You may want to take the cutting down slowly. I had a 3 day headache that felt like my head was going to pop off. This is caused by the oxygen returning to your brain and swishing around. After the first day, it hits you like a brick in the head. I don't live all that far from the drug dealers in the hood. I was about ready to go in that direction and make a new friend on a street corner. If you have some good pain killers handy, this will help.
I was thinking of having one cup of "real" coffee in the morning, then if I want some later having the decaf. I have gone without my morning coffee in the past and by noon my head was pounding off my shoulders, so I know how that goes. I don't drink as much coffee as I used to, though.
You could probably just mix your own regular and caffeine free with half a pot at a time. Then you can calibrate your own. I wish I would've thought of that when I needed it.
