One might argue that some of the things that have been said in this thread are off-topic with thread title because they defy common sense.
Most people accept that a nation needs to be able to defend itself from its enemies, so I am at a loss to understand why they would deprive themselves and other individuals from that same right. Of course, the ones behind the gun-banning nonsense, unlike the dupes who parrot their words, will not be left defenseless because they will have armed security. The gun banners intend to be the only ones with the guns. They intend to have the power. That's what it's about.
