The King and his queen treated us three strangers to a wonderful feast. Now where to next for the intrepid trio.
Be careful when feasting with strangers in fairy tales! As soon as we had swallowed the last bite of the food, we shrunk to the size of a moth. All of our hosts turned into frogs and began trying to eat us!!!!!!! We have to find some way to get back to our normal size!!!!!
Surely , Shirley, there must be a miracle worker here somewhere,,! Food was fantastic tho, im full as a tick!
My intrepid partners have returned. Shirley that musta been a dream about being reduced to the size of an insect. I am still my usual size. But before something bad befalls us we best head back to our entrance. Another world awaits us. Now which one will we choose..
The first thing we have to do is get down off of these chairs before our froggy hosts find us. Luckily for us @Louise Miller brought along her crocheting supplies. She can unroll a length of her thread then bite it in two with her sharp pointy little teeth. She rapidly did that then tied it to the chair rung and climbed down to the floor. She broke another piece and tossed it to Craig. Then one for me. We all made it safely to the floor. Now we had to run across the open space of the floor. Run, y’all! …...Whew! Made it! The frogs have spotted us! Craig said, “I see a crack at the corner of the door. I think it is big enough so that we can squeeze through!” He tried it. “Unnngggh” “It’s a tight squeeze but I made it.” “Come on, Shirley and Louise!” I went next. It is a tight squeeze. “I’m stuck!” “Louise, push me!!!!” With a mighty little shove, Louise pushed me through. Now there is only her to get through. “C’mon, Louise! Hurry!” ….. “I’m scared!” said Louise. “What if I get stuck?” …… “We’ll pull you out. Hurry!” “The frogs are right behind you!” She made it through easily. We went running across the yard. Suddenly we heard a small voice pleading, “Help me.” (Insects can talk in this story.) It was a grasshopper stuck in a spider web. “Dare we stop long enough to free him?” Louise asked. “We have to,” said Craig, “We can’t leave him for the spider to eat.” So we all grabbed him by his legs and gave a big pull. Out he popped, shaken but unharmed. “How can I ever thank you?” the cricket asked. I said, “We have to find our way back to the portal and go back through to get back to our normal size.” “Can you tell us the way?” It replied, “I’ll do better than that. Get on my back and I’ll take you there.” We climbed on and he flew for a short distance. Grasshoppers can do that. It was night now and dark. Cricket said, “I’ll get my friend, Firefly, to light the way for us.” With Firefly leading the way and Grasshopper fly/hopping we made our way onward. Suddenly, there were plopping, plopping sounds behind us! It was the frogs! They had found us! Craig spotted a pyracantha bush and quickly broke off one of the thorns. “I’ll use this for a sword!” he said. One of the frogs hopped closer. Craig stabbed it in the eye and it hopped off, howling. That scared the others and they backed away. “Quick, jump on!” Cricket exclaimed. We scrambled on and away we went. Soon we arrived at the portal. After many thanks and hugs, our friends bade us farewell. We jumped through the portal, back to our world and our normal size.
That was a close call. We were almost the frog's dinner. Thanks to the brave grasshopper and firefly we survived. We are now back at the portal entrance in our human size. Have we decided which one of the three we will venture thru. I for one am excited at what the next mysterious world has to offer us.
